Finishing an away game where you have scored 4 goals with an overriding feeling that we wasted too many clear cut chances... THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGING

Fantastic result. We finally seem to have developed some spunk. We still can't defend but we don't roll over the way we used to. Onwards...onwards...

I think we do defend but only against the top teams. The GD thing if things continue as they are - maybe a factor in the end like it kind of was last time we challenged. The order of the league is correct with Man City/Arsenal/Liverpool - its not about just winning but as some have pointed out it is also about good defense and everyone knows know how inconsistent our defense is.

Moreno has been good today.
Karius has been brilliant in the 2nd half.
I think you need to pay more attention when Moreno is on (or usually off) the ball. He couldn't protect a ball to save his life, he leaves himself stranded in the wrong half of the pitch by being dispossessed and he tries flicks and back heels that end up giving the opposition a free run at our CBs. He is a defensive nightmare.

They pegged us back twice and we still won in the end. That could end up being the most significant plus point from today. 😎
Indeed - That result was unexpexted but immense. I lost a pretty penny on that result - Mainy becausei I was sure Benteke would tear us a new one. Seems I was wrong! Hahahahahahhaha! Boss. A glass of raspberry leaf tea raised to you all 🙂 Red Astaire kitty took a hit but still in the black. We move on lads! 🙂

Our defensive frailties may or may not cost us the league this season but in terms of our long term development, the manner of this win is significant. We've grown balls at last...perfectly illustrated by Lovren getting his goal straight after the howler.

This is going to be a helluva ride!

I'm not interested in long term development, it's a myth. We go through managers like tories go though kids. This is a great chance to win the league, I expect us to make the most of it
Ha! But it looks like Klopp's going to be here for a while and he's added another quality a title winning side needs...guts. Now if he can just shore up that defence...

We'll defo be in Europe next year. This is the best chance we'll have for a while

It sounds a perverse thing to say when we scored four but we still have to sharpen up on finishing. We should have had at least six today, and for too long we gave Palace hope by wasting so many good chances.

We played some great stuff though.

Moreno was improved, so he deserves credit for that, but he still does silly things, like losing the ball in their half by back heeling the ball to no one in particular. He seems to lose focus every few minutes, even if it's just for a second. But at least he's finally appearing to learn something.

Once again I felt Mane could have done a little better. He was good but he has the potential to be so much better if he really uses his pace and shows a bit more determination and drive.

Firmino - a really impressive performance, but I think I'll go mad if another player invites a yellow card for taking his shirt off. He could have got sent off for a clumsy challenge as he tired if the ref hadn't been so good today. It's inexcusable to get a yellow for goal celebrations these days, there's just no point in it.

Coutinho deserves all the praise he gets. Finally he looks to be pushing up to a higher level.

Agreed Mane should have had two goal. Very poor finishing. Coutinho should have had at least one as well.

We played some top quality football in the first half. We also showed some character going to the dressing room with a 3:2 lead after seeing them equalising twice.
Second half was a little nervous at times, yet we managed to get the 4th and put the game to bed.
I'm happy. An interesting and exciting season ahead.
