has just scored for Spain against Portugal at the u19 Euro Championship

2-1, his second goal of the game - two great finishes, one with each foot

A player called Resurreccion has just came on for Spain, now that's an ace name

He definitely deserves his chance - hope 'Ol Roy gives him more of a go than Rafa or we'll end of losing him.

i think this year will be make or break for him at the club, if he doesnt get the oppurtunities then he may well decide he needs to move on to further his career, he will have no shortage of offers from Spain if he does so as his reputation there is very high as a future star. If Ngog does get moved on I would like to see Pacheco take his position on the bench

Id happily fuck Ngog off and make Pacheco play a second striker role. I understand Ngog plays more of the Torres role but I am expecting Roy to bring in an out and out striker i.e. Remy? or someone of that ilk. Pacheco playing in the Gerrard role could be worth havinga look at in less important games. He should start every carling cup game we play.

I hope Dani gets more game time. It will be a shame to lose such a huge talent!

Roy seems to have an eye for talent and is decisive. Look at the players on the move out!

they call him "koke" as a nickname, let's buy him, he can only be brilliant!

I think Joe Cole will be good for Pacheco.

They seem very similar to me.

It sure does. It would be pointless sending him on loan to liga. I'm sure he will get a good few sub appearances this season and a start in the cups.

A midfield with Mohammed Sissoko, Reseruccion, Jesus Navas and Eden Hazard would be nice.

I would try and find a place for Yuri Zirkhov in that team as well. It should result in some really funny turn of phrases.

Cole can become our Iniesta and Pacheco our Xavi, Lucas will NOT become our Busquets.

Really pleased to see the lad rewarded. This could be his breakthrough season and if it is then it will be fantastic for him .... and us.

Liverpool have handed Daniel Pacheco the No.12 jersey for the new season.

The Spanish starlet, who made his first competitive start for the Reds in the Europa League clash with FK Rabotnicki last week, takes over the number from Fabio Aurelio after the Brazilian opted for the No.6 shirt.

Other players to have worn the No.12 jersey for Liverpool in recent years include Ronnie Whelan, Jerzy Dudek and Sami Hyypia.

Pacheco previously held No.47 at Anfield.

Is he really going to play a part this season?
[/quote]

Who knows? But it's refreshing to see that we're at least keeping showing the encouragement, especially in light of recent years where players would find themselves frozen out. It's a delicate situation because he's a potentially good player who's looking for more games. I doubt we were really in a position to make promises but it's nice to see us looking after our own interests by buttering him up and hoping for the best.

Numbers over 11 annoy me.

It should be like Rugby.

15 aside?

Well you don't give someone the #12 shirt if they are going to spend the season in the reserves. If he continues progressing as he has been then he will be a 1st team regular before the end of the season :

Pacheco (switch) ............. Cole ............... Jovanovic (switch)

.....................................Torres

I think he has already done enough to show it's more than just potential ... now it's just a case of how good he can become.

No

I must say I'm pleasantly surprised by the idea of him getting some games this season but i think it's a bit much to expect him to become 'a regular'. If that happens it means something is wrong with our frontline.

It's potential. What's he done in the Premiership? Just because he's had a few stormers against 17 year old's, it doesn't mean he's the deal. He didn't pull up trees in the last match, for what it's worth.

He will be 20 this year, that's old enough to hold down a first team slot in many teams if you are good enough. At the moment our frontline players are (and I'm assuming now that Gerrard is moving back into midfield): Torres, Jovanovic, Cole, Kuyt, N'Gog, Babel & possibly Aquilani (as AM), we may also have another striker arriving before the end of the transfer season. However it seems Pacheco will be played on either the left or the right and in that case his competition is Jovanovic, Kuyt & Babel - It's not beyond the realms of possibility that he can get himself to #2 in that list, and become a 1st team regular, if he continues his progress.
