I'm quite sure that McCarthy had in mind simply to conceed the game and go after the points he thought he had a more realistic chance of winning on Saturday. Of course that contravenes all spirit of fair competition and hands United a free game. Wolves will hopefully receive a points penalty.
I think its more down to McCarthy being a bit of an idiot than anything else.
He just seems like the least subtle man in the World. Where most managers in his position might rest a couple of players thinking about the next game old Thick McCarthy, with no thought to what the reaction might be from the press, fans and players, just wades in and drops all of them.
He was probably really surprised this morning that his cunning plan was rumbled so quickly.

I can't disagree with Wolves desicion then 2-0 win of Burnley who are the better team.
Good manangement there...
and great job to fullham I wouldn't mind Hodgson as manager and Murphy back in the red.
What a fucking crock.

Pressure was on him to get 3 points and his team delivered.
Top teams do it all the time, its just that wolves squad is weaker than others.

Its all wrong and McCarthy should be punished for it. Its not in the spirit of the game. Bet he doesn't do it against Chelsea or Arsenal.

I think it was the 3-games-in-8-days thing that made him play his second string (not reserves). However, if it had been us I bet he'd have played a stronger team in the realistic expectation of grabbing a point.

I bet the cheeky twat fancies his chances of three points against us and plays his first team.
Everybody fancies their chances against us. We're a fucking mess.

If only other teams play like Fulham v Man U

I'd be happy if we played like Fulham v Man U.
