How was their 50m man ?

He was pretty awful, although he's one of those players whose physical and tactical attributes only allow him to play in one position, and have the entire team built around him

He isn't getting that luxury at Everton

So the only way he was able to extract world class performances from a world class player was to actively attempt to replace him with an average player.

Dastardly plan.
Can you call someone world class if he needed top performances cajoled out of him? Alonso was an under-performing player during what proved to be his penultimate year. He vastly improved when it looked like a bang average player, albeit one that Rafa thought he could work with, was being pursued as a replacement. Do you remember the sleepy Alonso that used to stroll around on occasions, or do you just remember the adulation he rightly deserved when he could be arsed?

I was never one of the fans who were calling Alonso all the names under The Lying Rag in that penultimate season

He wasn't at his best, but he was nowhere near as bad as some suggested, because he was obviously one of the best CM players in Europe

How true do you think the reports were that Rafa was trying to sell him but nobody wanted him?

The criticism of Alonso was over the top.

As for whether he was world class or not, well yeah, he was.

Anyone who wanted rid of Alonso and thought we should replace him is a giant tard. I include Benitez in that.

And the poor spells came when he was recovering from broken ankles if i remember correctly.

But we have to forget that fact if we want to justify a terrible plan by Rafa

Spurs City Utd Arse all winning again and only side to drop is Liverpool.....AGAIN

7th place and level with Watford and Burnley.

Haha 😀
[article]Legend has it that as a youth player Hirving Lozano took joy in hiding under the bed on road trips then jumping out and scaring his teammates. And so, despite his lack of carrot-orange hair or facial scars, Lozano became "El Chucky" after the doll in horror movies.[/article]
