Other Clubs Transfer Stuff

I can't overly see it working for some reason.

Pickfords a decent goalie but I think they've overpaid by about 20m

Keane, decent but not much better than what they've got

Klassen, should be higher up the pitch, meaning he's competing with Rooney and Barkley for that spot.

Lookman will get games but I still think he's too raw to be a consistent threat and starter

Bolasie is always a risk, but is sandro the big man to replace lukaku? He is a phenomenal striker in that system and I know little of sandro, but it's huge boots to fill
I think my prediction that they will have a decent season is predicated on Klassen being a decent player as I don't know much about him. If he turns out to be a good player then I reckon they are just a target man (maybe Giroud) away from being a tough proposition next season.

Keane is a big upgrade on their other CB options. Williams is good but getting on a bit (will get one more good season outta him), Jagielka has been superb for them but is a fading force and I've never fancied Funes-Mori.

....................................Pickford..................................
Holgate*...........Keane..........Williams............Baines
.....................Davies.......Schneiderlin..................
.........Lookman........Rooney..........Klassen...........
.............................Sandro.............................

I've actually just checked and Bolasie won't be fit for the start of the season but he will give them a great option when he returns. Holgate is a very promising kid but Coleman will come back in for him at some stage. Up front Sandro or Giroud if he signs. IMO that team will be good enough for top 6 and would have challenged for 4th place if they didn't have to play in Europe.

You could be right about Lookman but i have a sneaky suspicion that Lookman is destined for great things and I think this will be his "breakout" season.

If they go with that formation and players:

Sando - 1 season in his life where he's scored 10+ goals
Rooney - enough said, finished
Lookman - 1 goal last season
Klassen - 10-15 league goals a season in the dutch league

Compare that with Lukaku alone 26, 25, 20 premier league goals over the last 3 years alone for them. I think they'll struggle if they replace Lukaku with sandro/rooney as their striker.

After witnessing him outclass just about everyone at the U20s, ive had this horrible feeling that he could be one hell of a player for them, im not sure if it will be this season or the one after but he looks the best of u20 bunch england had to offer, comfortably

I've posted this before, but The Bitters have apparently done some research, and none of Lukaku's goals last season gained them any points.

They've all been scored when the games already won. Or lost.

They must have read that reasoning and way of thinking on here regarding Suarez, as something similar was posted once.

A very "Bitters" way of thinking about losing their best player.

Everton will do okay next season even without Lukaku. The kid Lookman will become a star next season and the other kid Davies will continue to improve. Bolasie is back fit and they have made some decent signings. If it wasn't for their involvement in the Europa League I would have considered them an outside threat for top 4, as it stands i reckon they'll finish 5th or 6th.
5th or 6th ? Then you'll have to tell us which two teams you expect to drop out of that Top 6 considering all of those above are strengthening with even better players and Everton were miles behind the Top 6 last season. Narrow the gap by getting better results versus non-Top 6 would be my forecast, so 7th again.

Yeah, well they are aptly named. There's probably a little element of truth in there somewhere, but the simple facts of the matter are that players who score lots of goals are very important, and he scores lots of goals.

Rumour doing the rounds that Everton have put in an offer of 40mill for Raul Jiminez from Benfica, he's not exactly prolific by the looks of it either. Fair play to them getting their business done asap though, unlike the rest of the top 6.

Messi agrees another 4yr contract. Which thankfully means we wont have to see him in a city shirt tearing shit up.

He scored the equaliser and then the 4th against Leicester towards the end of the season. Also scored all three against Sunderland. Equaliser against Palace, equaliser against City, four in the 6-3 against Bournemouth etc. etc.

I'd say Everton have done no such research.

I think Arsenal are vulnerable and I wouldn't be surprised if Spurs had a big dip in home form playing at Wembley. If United don't strengthen adequately (and lose DeGea) then they could struggle for top 4 (although I expect they will be very active in the transfer market so should finish comfortably in the top 4).

There's every chance Everton could finish in 7th but I reckon they'll do well this coming season and at least one of the "top 6" will underachieve.

It seems Ruben Neves IS heading to Wolves for just £15m. What's happened there? Not as good as he was made out to be? Wolves getting a major bargain?

Conte will hope his options are significantly bolstered by then, with the club close to announcing the signings of Tiemoué Bakayoko from Monaco and Antonio Rüdiger from Roma. Talks continue with Juventus over Alex Sandro, who would cost a club record £61m, and interest is retained in Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, whom the manager has identified as his preferred replacement for Costa. He could cost as much as £100m.

Fuck me. I can sort of kind of understand £100M for Lukaku due to lack of genuine star strikers on the market (even though as good as he is he's not a bona fide world class striker, too many obvious weaknesses in his game), but 60+ million pounds for Alex fucking Sandro? A Juve left-back who was left on the bench half of the time this year and can't really defend? The dam of logic and reason just burst wide open this season.

Supposedly one of the best 2-3 FBs in the world. Only Marcelo rated higher it seems. And he's young.

One of the best 2-3 FB in the world, who can't get consistently into the first team at Juventus and at age 26 still has not played ANY competitive matches for his national team (like really, zero competitive games)? As they say in Brooklyn, give me a break. He's not bad, but not top, top level. If you wanted to see what a real world-class full-back looks like, you only needed to check out the 34-year-old Dani Alves on the opposite flank...

If this is what £61M gets you these days, then we should offer 100M each for Keita and Van Dijk and it would still be a bargain.

100 mill for Lukaku is pretty insane as well.
He has 2 years left on his contract and wont sign a new one. You'd think the buying club would have the best hand if they leave it late in the window.

My guess is Chelsea are doing just that.

I thought he was nailed on for Chelsea.

Im a little bit surprised to hear him going to Utd, least not because he will replace zlatans goals in the league and then some but they still arent exactly locked in for a top 4 spot next season ..

Does that mean Costa stays or chelsea have turned their intentions elsewhere ?

Wtf, I thought he was 100% nailed on for the chavs. That's come out of nowhere. Wonder if they'll keep up for Morata now or bin it off.
I thought the rumour was bullshit to get the Morata deal to hurry up.

Appaz the scum have immediately pulled out of the Morata deal now. Weird. Lukaku is the typical sort of striker that Mourinho likes to play his 1 up top with though.

I thought once the Rooney deal looked like it was happening Lukaku going the other way was a possibility

Didn't he change his agent to Raiola recently?
Once I seen that, I fully expected him to go to Man U and was surprised that he seemed to be going to Chelsea.
