The 18-year-old centre-half, signed from Rangers for an initial £2million in the summer, has already been told by Liverpooln manager Roy Hodgson he will start in the third-round clash.
He may be lining up at left-back rather than his accustomed central position but that will not diminish the occasion.

Excellent, looking forward to seeing these potential first teamers take there first step, if they are good enough I'd like to see some of them in the squad and getting regular sub run-outs before the end of the season. Roy does seem to be giving youth far more of a chance than Rafa did.
