Is he better than Babel?
Who isn't?
n'gog is playing though the middle, put him (ngog) in a wide position and see how well he does.
Ngog would be a fucking boss winger, miles better than that useless lazy moaning twat Babel
ngog would make an ace winger, er, what?

Course he would. He can control the ball and go past people - you know the prerequisites that Babel left in Amsterdam.

He wouldn't be an ace winger. In any case, I'd prefer it if he concentrated on being a better striker.

Ngog is actually dead fucking good. He does the stuff you can't learn very well and is learning the stuff you can quite quickly. We'd have been fucked without him so far this season.
I agree with the last bit.
I also agree to an extend about his ability.
What worries me is he is still so lightweight and is pushed around so very easily. Added to that, and yesterday highlighted it, he get caught offside more than Heskey and Cisse put together.
Perhaps there is something in your winger idea where those two major concerns would not be such an issue.
I still remain pretty unconvinced and we need to bring in another striker pdq

It's a stupid argument, because Babel has proven himself as shite time and time again in every role he's played. He's not gonna suddenly develop a first touch, anticipation, awareness or indeed a brain if he's played more centrally, infact, players with pace generally thrive from pulling wide because that's where they usually find space to run into, Torres does it, N'Gog does it on occasion. Babel struggles taking on a fullback, so why would he be any different in the middle, where arguably he'd be in a more congested area of the pitch? He'd also have to have reasonable intelligence to play on the shoulder of the last defender and beat the offside trap.

I don't think he'd make a good winger at all and I'll leave it there, I have no idea why babel has even been brought up. ngog played and scored, babel didn't even figure so why is he (babel) even being mentioned?
that's the reason I defend babel, not because I rate him but because the critisism is over the top.

I really don't want to be drawn into a babel arguement, marky, it's been done to death and everything worth saying has been said.

Got to say I agree, his biggest strengths are his movement off the ball and his (occasional) finishing. His ability on the ball with players infront of him is decent at best, he loses possession too easily in those situations, he's much better within the box pouncing on opportunities or when breaking clear of the last defender. He's no winger.
Maybe because they are both fringe attacking players for the same club struggling to get into the first 11? Ya know, by comparison like. Isn't it oft said about every single player ever 'Is he better than ...'? Well isn't it? So it's actually got nothing to do with him being 'brought up' and more to do with the fact you still rate the useless wanker?
Don't answer, I already know.

He's still capable of those WTF, Momo-like moments (that 'shot' that went 40ft up in the air) but he's definitely growing on me. I trust Hodgson to help him improve a lot this season.
eh? Wasn't that Carra with the 'backpass' clearance? Or maybe I missed it thanks to the bloody stop-go-stop stream.
Definitely room for improvement. At least he learns from mistakes, e.g. not getting caught offside after a few times in the first half. Goal can only be good for his confidence.

N'Gog did hit a skyrocket too at one stage. But I agree, he does seem to be applying himself and learning, though I'd still prefer it if he didn't have to play so often.
