I'm not surprised you think it's funny

It isn't, but what else can we do but hope things arent so bleak?
The managers and Rafa have turned us into a broke club full of shit players, but its still our club and we have no place else to go.

WTF Avy ?!

If not shit, then pitifully average.
Looking at the squad is painful, in all airness.
Incidentally, I think too many assumptions are being made with very little to go on.
Why Hodgson over better managers?
Possibly because he's an agent of Darkness bent on ruining this club (as if we arent already), but also possibly because better managers wouldnt touch us with a barge pole. As for Kenny, yes, he would have been a good choice..but the main reason why some on here want him is because of the lift and 'feel-good' factor. Are these footballing reasons?..Arguably the nostalgia behind such an appointmen is as important as any footballing reasons.
As for the retention of poor players, it's possible to again argue that Hodgson's hands are being forced by the managment. Many on here will then say that Kenny or Rafa wouldnt have countenanced such interference (a bit funny to argue this point for Rafa, considering most of the players referred to were Rafa's transfers)
It's also possible to suggest that the reason Hodgson was looking at players was because he wouldnt get th funds to replace the crap players sold; in such a case he'd certainly try to keep the players in the squad.
A Hodgson's Choice, as it were.
Ha.
In any event, time will tell if Brendan and Kopking will be proven right.
