Why is Purslow hated all of a sudden?

I feel like I've missed a huge bit of news.

He's a fucking liar, he knows nothing about football, and yet seems to be almost entirely in charge of our club, after his appointment by Tom fucking Hicks.

And you wonder why he's hated?

His transfer figures last year were obviously wrong and he's failed to bring in the investment, but what else is there? The hatred of him seems out of proportion for the 'harm' he's done to the club.

Removing Benitez was right and, even for those who wanted Dalglish as his replacement, ignoring his advances does have some (footballing) logic behind it.

Removing Benitez and replacing him with Hodgson was right? How about selling players without recourse to the manager? Is that right too?

And what "footballing logic" is fucking Cecil in a position to impart? GYAC:none whatsoever.

So he lied about the £20m kitty. He's got no investment. He lied about the SOS meeting and minutes. He briefed the press against Benitez and leaked confidential information. And he's a Hicks-appointed lickspittle.

Have I missed anything?

Thats right, keep moaning about it all and Roy will magically no longer be manager. We get it, you don't like him Bren but nothing can be done about it now. Going on every day changes nothing, other than irritate.

Besides, we all know you hate him because he sees lucas as a useful first team option
But that's exactly what happens in football. If enough people make it known that he isn't the right man for the job, eventually he will be removed. He isn't. He will be.

And I don't a merry fuck what irritates anyone.
What's more irritating is pretending that Woy is here for any other reason than to keep Cecil happy and not cause any trouble.

So far, so good Agent Woy.
Fucking hell Bren, he hasn't brought or sold a player yet.
As has been said slightly bigging-up a player that you might be looking to off-load is hardly an original tactic. A) it seems as if you are reluctant to let him go
B) It keeps the morale of the player up if he doesn't

regards

This is getting increasingly bizarre. It's like Invasion of the Body Snatchers with Brendan in the Donald Sutherland role except in a bad way with Roy Hodgeson as the pretty lady sort of. That's exactly what it's like.

he did lie about the 20 million spent though, we made a profit in transfers.

Are all of these accusations against Purslow proven to be true? The transfer fund one is pretty solid and it is a fact he has no investment, though not necessarily his fault.

Do we know for sure he briefed the press against Benitez? Do we know for sure he leaked any information? Do we know for sure he lied about the SOS minutes?

I don't think anyone know anything tbh.

And I think Broughton for that matter gets far to mcuh stick on Liverpool forums. *Oh, he's a cunt. He only wants to fuck us over and sell Torres to Chelsea* Those sort of comments.
I'm not surprised you think it's funny
It isn't, but what else can we do but hope things arent so bleak?

The managers and Rafa have turned us into a broke club full of shit players, but its still our club and we have no place else to go.
WTF Avy ?!
If not shit, then pitifully average.

Looking at the squad is painful, in all airness.

Incidentally, I think too many assumptions are being made with very little to go on.

Why Hodgson over better managers?

Possibly because he's an agent of Darkness bent on ruining this club (as if we arent already), but also possibly because better managers wouldnt touch us with a barge pole. As for Kenny, yes, he would have been a good choice..but the main reason why some on here want him is because of the lift and 'feel-good' factor. Are these footballing reasons?..Arguably the nostalgia behind such an appointmen is as important as any footballing reasons.

As for the retention of poor players, it's possible to again argue that Hodgson's hands are being forced by the managment. Many on here will then say that Kenny or Rafa wouldnt have countenanced such interference (a bit funny to argue this point for Rafa, considering most of the players referred to were Rafa's transfers)

It's also possible to suggest that the reason Hodgson was looking at players was because he wouldnt get th funds to replace the crap players sold; in such a case he'd certainly try to keep the players in the squad.

A Hodgson's Choice, as it were.

Ha.

In any event, time will tell if Brendan and Kopking will be proven right.

The owners are there courtesy of the fans, that being the case there's a lot that can be done.
No they're not.

They're there courtesy of the big fucking loan they took out from the bank. Hence why it's the bank - and only the bank - that can actually do anything

We read the news articles and instantly its believable because of desperate situation.

I'll wait to see our line up against the Gooners before making any judgements.

Why Cecil? Is it an insult that I don't get? And where has it come from?
Its his middle name I think.

My dad has a friend called Cecil.

We pronounce it like 'Sessill'.

Rather than the American 'Seesill'.
I presumed the majority would pronounce it 'Sessill' Gene.
So? Why is he being called it? And whats derogatory about it? AND WHERE HAS IT COME FROM?
I dont understand.

I assumed it was because people think it's a bit of a Ruperty type of poshy wanker name. Some cunning fans discovered it was his middle name and feel it's somewhat emblematic of the social distance between him and the common man/fan.

I'm making all this up, obviously.
Thats fucking pathetic if true Gene.

I quite like having a liar in charge. If he even is a liar at all at all, I honestly don't know and there's no point in asking him. Liars are great but complex, like good salads.

Not as pathetic as Roadhouse2 though young oncy, which your thread the other day encouraged me to watch the other night - if there was a football equivalent it would be that long ball pumped over the top at Ewood Park, with Sean Dundee puffing and panting to get after it, and then it whacked him in the back of the nugget and he sprawled to the floor looking shocked...... without the humour, but with all the realisation that those involved are in the worng career.
