Amen to that.

Brendan = the new Rebel.
Yah, I said this last week ... He's become a froth at the mouth, eloquent mentalist.

I can't tell if he's doing 'a bit' he must be surely?
Brendan is now a 'superfan'.

I think Brendan's doing what a number of us have been doing - that is, preparing for the worst, whilst hoping for the best. It's an exercise in self-preservation.

Of course, if everything goes tits up then he'll have the consolation of being able to say 'I told you so' and the material he needs to promote his sagely persona. And if by some miracle, we find wonderful new buyers and/or perform above expectations this season, then he can legitimately claim that he's delighted to have been wrong about everything.

bren may be jumping the gun a bit but let's be perfectly honestly here, his predictions are more likely to happen than not.

Didn't those include Gerrard, Mascher and Torres leaving?

Only 1 will move imho, and thats Mascher.

Roy Hodgson is weighing up a move for South Korean World Cup star Park Chu-Young .

The 25-year-old is an enormously popular figure in South Korea, having originally starred for the national under-20 side, during which time he was named Asian Young Footballer of the Year. The striker moved from FC Seoul to Monaco in 2008 and has not disappointed. His intelligent style means that he adds much more than merely goals to the team. Park made a solitary appearance for South Korea in the 2006 World Cup, but played a prominent role in South Africa, scoring a goal against Nigeria.

Liverpool are considering making a £6million bid to bring Park to Anfield. Hodgson is understood to have some money available for signings and with Yossi Benayoun having been sold last week to Chelsea, the Liverpool boss should have enough available cash to make an offer for him. Park scored eight goals and contributed two assists for Monaco last season and has netted fourteen times in 39 international matches.
I like Park Chu Young cos of how ridiculasly good he was on PES06.

My main issue is this:

Non-footballing people at Anfield sacked Benitez and made an appointment that was non-footballing

Woy has admitted as much

And everything I have seen, read or heard from Woy has filled me with dread

So anyone who isn't really fucking worried about our club, and is instead *unfailingly* smug and sneery about what certain groups of fans might think (misguided as some of their thinking might be) is, frankly, a bit of a tool

Purslow has lied and lied again, briefed the media, seeded untruths, and undermined our old manager at every turn

And you trust this cunt to appoint the 'right' man and do what is right for the club?

As fucking if

I'm not surprised you think it's funny
It isn't, but what else can we do but hope things arent so bleak?

The managers and Rafa have turned us into a broke club full of shit players, but its still our club and we have no place else to go.
WTF Avy ?!

Brendan, everyone is aware of all this. Just because they don't reiterate it in every post they make doesn't render them a 'tool'.
Roy was appointed because that's the best we could do. I agree the club is in a shit place right now, there are a number of people who, it seems to me to be almost forcing themselves to be positive in the hope that it means they will enjoy the coming of the new season.

There are however a number of people on the forum, the majority who would have 'predicted' the same things you have 'predicted' but not been so fucking miserable and cunty about it as you.

Right now Roy is here to steady the ship, because due to the fine margins in the game and playing at the top end of the game within a season our ship is fucking wrecked. The point of Roy coming in is to calm shit down, he kinda did a similar role at Inter (although yes I fucking know it was a gazillion years ago) but that's what he does and as a result I'm ok with it (NOT over the moon, not fucking jumping from the rooftops happy about it) but just OK.

Players will no doubt play a little better this season, there will be a number of players who underperformed last season and they will perform a little better, Lucas, Babel, Insua will not turn into world beater cos Roy puts his arm around them but they will improve a little as will the team. Will it be enough for 4th place? I doubt it as City will be stronger....but at least let a brother dream (even if it is a shit dream).
Wrong Kenny was/is better.

Not only for the Club but because the 'feel good factor' he'd have brought would have lifted everyone and we would all be a friggin hell of a lot more positive right now.
And what when kenny failed Who would pick him up.

Why do you think kenny would have failed?

Failed to do what anyway?

Give us the Feel good factor (would have)

Steadied the Ship (would have)

Done better than Roy? I can't see him doing worse can you really?

Everyone* knows why Woy got the job over Kenny.

One of them is a Liverpool fan, a Liverpool legend, who wants 100% what is best for the club, and whatever he said (good or bad) we'd listen to.

The other one is Woy Hodgson.

* I say "everyone". I actually mean, most people who aren't tools.

Great, so we're aware of the situation we're in. But it's happened, and we can't change it, so why are we still bitching over it?

So you weren't concerned about Kenny not having managed a football team for 10 years?

I think Kenny coming back and managing us was merly a big wet dream, the return of the King etc. 10 years is a long time to be out.

Don't forget that Kenny interviewed Roy for the position, and that it was Kenny who told the board that Roy was the right man for the job.

Says a lot about Kenny, and I'm thrilled he's going to be involved with the club on a much more regular basis than before. But I'm glad he didn't take over as manager, it wouldn't have worked out and I'd hate for him to have that on his concience. And ours as fans.

Whoever takes this Poison Chalice on will not succeed in one season
The new owners IF wouldn't be able to pick anyone else without Armageddon kicking off so wouldn't buy
I dont think he could handle failing here anywhere else yes
the ship would still kick and buck
I't would be my dream to see him succeed. But my nightmare to see him fail.I couldn't stand it.

Because some fucking divvies think that Woy got the job because he's a great manager. Which he isn't.

Thats right, keep moaning about it all and Roy will magically no longer be manager. We get it, you don't like him Bren but nothing can be done about it now. Going on every day changes nothing, other than irritate.

Besides, we all know you hate him because he sees lucas as a useful first team option

It's ace that you have an opinion that doesn't bear any resemblance to the what actually happened.

Kenny saw the list and - rightly - said that he was the best man for the job. And was ignored.

But that's exactly what happens in football. If enough people make it known that he isn't the right man for the job, eventually he will be removed. He isn't. He will be.

And I don't a merry fuck what irritates anyone.
What's more irritating is pretending that Woy is here for any other reason than to keep Cecil happy and not cause any trouble.

So far, so good Agent Woy.

water under the bridge, but is being out of the game such a big deal?

* its not like kenny was in a panic room for 10 years

* kenny could surround himself with people who are more up to speed with training techniques

* the man is a born winner - do you lose that sort of hunger and will to win?

what's done is done but its disappointing they went with mediocrity (who knows what roy will achieve before anyone has a go) rather than someone who is liverpool through and through and a winner.

But if the owners want him there then thats it really isn't it? They want a yes man and we can't do anything about it because they still own the club. When they leave, dependent on success in the team, Roy might too.

Until then, we have a manager who may have never set the world alight, but might actually be rational and do a decent job.

"Hodgson believes Lucas holds the quality to hold down his first team place at the club"

How can he? Based on fucking WHAT?

Yet another reason to want Woy out ASAP
Hysteria based on a newspaper article. Come on Brendan, you can do better than that. Sounds like you're willing him to fail.
The signs aren't particularly promising, let's be honest.

One of Benitez's biggest failings was his "blind spots", which many assumed Woy wouldn't have.

But now he's made positive noises about two of the biggest twats in our first team, and claims he wouldn't want to sell either (even if that decision is taken out of his hands, which in Insua's case looks likely, but I'm worried that Lucas will stay. Which will leave us, after Masher leaves, with one of the worst Central midfields in the entire Premiership).
You were saying we're 'fucked' the other day because everyone will leave, Insua and Lucas will stay and Woy is shit. Based on fuck all. No one knows what's gonna happen and it does sound like you're willing it too half the time, by banging on about it.

Personally I won't be sorry to see Insua go, but I can understand Roy at least wanting a look at players
