Why not close Anfield Road just for the length of the new stand & introduce a helicopter vehicle ferry system between the two stranded ends of the road? One of those big cherook things shoudl be able to shuttle backwards & forwards with a Ford Mondeo, or equivalent, carrying five passengers suspended below it. This also provides a business opportunity for a local entrepreneur

I’m afraid that would cause horrible noise pollution for the locals. I believe a better solution would be to close the road for the length of the stand and encourage potential road users to buy a second car and always have one car parked at the other side of the stand. This way they can approach the stadium, park, walk around back of the stand and then continue their journey in the second car. Simples!
 
How about building a third tier for the Anfield road stand , but put it on wheels. Store it in Stanley Park & then every match day close the road for 105 minutes & wheel the third tier into place at 3pm, wheel it back it again at 4.45pm.

Tell referees not to add injury time to avoid unnecessary traffic disruption

A more realistic solution might be to close off Anfield Road at the Arkles Lane end, and divert Anfield Road along what is currently Lothair Road to join up with Walton Breck Road. I think all the houses on Lothair Road are currently empty and "tinned up."

I have no idea whether Liverpool City Council would entertain the suggestion.

Why do you think it's impractical? Actually it seems by far the most practical to me, and definitely less of a headache for the City Council.

I believe that city planners and engineers would come up with all sorts of reasons why a main road cannot go through a tunnel under a football stand. There would be cost issues and legal issues relating to public highways. That's just my opinion though.

Well I would have assumed the club would have to pay the costs whether it was a diversion or a tunnel so that element wouldn't impact the council. I also think it would be less disruption from a traffic point of view, both during construction AND in the long term.

In one of the most horrific 'town centres' you'll ever see at Cumbernauld near Glasgow (really, a sprawling labyrinthine mall described in some booby architecture award as 'a rabbit warren on stilts'), the town centre extends over the top of the M8, the main motorway between Glasgow and Edinburgh. If Cumbernauld town centre can manage to build over a motorway, surely LFC could manage to bridge over a crappy street?

I'm amazed city councils making it so difficult for clubs to expand. In American Football state money will not only be used to help the stadium expand but also on the infrastructure and planning required, because they understand the wider economic benefit of having a large number of people flocking to the city each weekend and spending their dough.

Here we let some old bitter in a tin house clog up proceedings for 5 years and generally make the prospect of expansion as difficult as possible.

Given how North American taxpayers get fleeced in these redevelopments, not sure I'd be wanting to advocate for a similar approach.

The purported economic benefits are seldom as advertised and teams just hold elected officials hostage by threatening to relocate.

My mate's ticket is in the corner next to the Anfield road end and when he picked his new seat - he loves it coz of all the shit that flies between the fans there - and they said he could keep their seats the end of the row. Looking at that pic he's nearer Goodison than the kop. There's no way you can see the other anny road corner is there?

Does look impressive but I doubt I'd like to watch the match from the top tier.
 
I hope this makes it easier to get premier league games this season, I'd absolutely love to go see that beast.
 
Aaaahh, theres nothing climbing the steps on the way to watch your team, listening to sound of piss & turds splashing about in the pipes a few centimeters above your head. Classic stadium architecture.



Still... theres Beer.
