So with all the waffle and talk of being merciless towards Mignolet and finally selling the hapless Belgian who could we replace him with? I only watch our games these days so any suggestions appreciated

I'm not saying we should sign Kasper, but what he does and Reina did really well and that was start a counter attack with long accurate throw.

Sirigu (PSG). Lost his place to the new signing Trapp this season but he is quality and wouldn't be an expensive signing.

This video clip above shows 12-15 points dropped by the Keeper that this clip creator found alone.

Any games we can attribute to the man where he kept us in the game, so we can have a fuller picture? Anyone? Bueller?

For perspective, those 15 points he cost us is the difference between qualifying for the CL and not. We are 9 points behind forth.

All 15 points would see us in second place in the PL. Just in case some people think we can "afford" the luxury of being nice to this Dracula of a keeper.

imagine a scenario next season where you didn't drop 10 of these 15 points, because you had a great keeper. And imagine you had a striker all year around that would win you some games, and that's about 10-12 additional points from games where we struggle to score.

It's a simplistic analysis, but It's not hard to see we're not that far off. Right there is 22 or so points which would see you top of the league.

First step, new keeper. We can't afford to drop these points because of Mignolet.

Jurgen Klopp’s regular boosts to Mignolet’s confidence might be getting Liverpool’s goalkeeper through to the end of the season without a complete meltdown, but allowing the Belgian to retain his place as Liverpool’s No. 1 goalkeeper beyond the summer would be tantamount to negligence. It’s not an issue of belief or form – he’s just not good enough.

It is Mignolet’s decision-making that leaves most to be desired, highlighted by his vain attempt to claw away the cross from which Papiss Cisse headed Newcastle’s first goal on Saturday. These are mistakes – when made regularly – that you would expect of a novice goalkeeper. Mignolet turned 28 last month.

Of the 30 goalkeepers to start more than five Premier League games this season, Mignolet ranks 27th by save percentage and 29th for save percentage from shots inside the box. Nobody has made more errors directly leading to goals this season, and only four goalkeepers have dropped more crosses.

Liverpool would not necessarily be a top-four club with a more able goalkeeper, but defensive solidity starts from the back and moves forward. Mignolet is leading by poor example, and it’s time for a change.

So Fraser Forster.
Timo Horny
Ter Stegan

Any others?

Any chance of someone called Jim, Ken, Thomas or Bob?

Young Serb playing in Israel.
Has talent, but he's a kid and makes stupid mistakes regularly, he's years away from this level.

Just so happens he actually shoved an opposition's manager after a heated game today.

I like this kid already. Passion!

Goalkeepers are difficult to scout because you really need to see them week in and week out over a season or two to know their strengths and weaknesses.

That said, I have to say I haven't been overly impressed with either Horn or Karius when I've seen them this season. I

Lots of Barca supporters say the same about Ter Stegen.

I think our best bet from the Bundesliga at least is Bernd Leno. Still very young (24) but has loads of experience - been Leverkusen's starting keeper for 5 full seasons now, which includes extensive experience in Europe as well.

I think his profile is ideal - he's played for a relatively big club, is experienced enough not to be just a flash in the pan, and also has room to get better.

He apparently has a 13 million release clause, which isn't terribly expensive either.

Of the other suggestions, I think the Sirigu one is worth considering. He has been wanting to leave for first team football since January, so he'd definitely be available.

He also had the reputation of being a very solid, error-free keeper in France - perhaps he could be a van der Saar type character for us?

Leno is going to RB Leipzig if all the German media talk is to believed.
They're spending a lot of money.
