And his defending?

Abysmal.
Nah, not really. He showed some good awareness and looked composed but truth to be said Hungary had about only one real opportunity (their goal) and Agger wasn't to blame. The game had the look of a friendly at times to be honest.
Against Sweden he looked very assured defensively limiting Zlatan to only a couple of half chances.
The main positive thing from last night in my opinion was that he looked lively and fit throughout the 90 minutes.

Is he the leader in the partnership?
The reason I ask is, if say Carra for some reason got dropped, I really don't see Skrtel leading the backline at all.
"Leading" maybe a bad word to describe it but you know what I mean..

Agger's a clever lad and he's always struck me as having potential to be the captain of the backline, the way he sort of stands back and assesses what's going on and signals to players where they need to be. He is, by all accounts, incredibly quiet though, so who knows?

It's been that long since he last played for us that I almost can't really recall whether you're right mate, but whenever he plays for Denmark he's very communicative.
*A part of the explenation could be that when he's playing alongside Carra that area seems pretty much covered.
