KHL puts forward a convincing case.

I'm starting to feel angry Messi snatched the Balon D'or.
Hahaha.

This has dominated a couple of threads and it's just fucking cringeworthy.

To be fair Kris has said numerous times that he's not saying Poulson played well, just that he wasn't the worst player on the pitch.

Whilst it remains debatable, I'd just about concur that Kuyt's complete anti-football wins the contest again. Ergo Kris is right.

Just to be clear though, Poulson is FUCKING SHIT.

From yet another site:

Poulsen 52 passes attempted , 41 successful. 5 interceptions. 5 tackles attempted, 1 tackle won.

Lucas 50 passes with 39 completed and 1 interception. Made 14 tackles, 10 of them successful

And more:

Kuyt Pass completion rate: 70.37%

Jovanovic Pass Completion rate: 65%

Lucas Pass completion rate: 78%

Poulsen Pass Completion rate: 78.8%

Meireles Pass Completion rate: 75.8%
Ha ha ha ha

Way to make a DM look shit man!

Most of his passes were to a defender behind him or to... wait for it... Lucas about 5 yards away.

He won 1 out of 5 tackles. He only made 5 tackles and of those he only won 1. Our DM won 1 tackle in 90 minutes against Blackpool. In a game that we lost. Deservedly.
If it was not so sad it would be really funny

4. skrtel
has no idea how to read the game. NONE.
it's unfair to blame him for the goal seeing as it was miereles' fuck up that put us on the back foot but watch how skrtel positions himself to cut out the danger. we gave blackpool a way back into the match on a fucking PLATE.
skrtel needs to sit himself down and watch dvds of sami in action, a man who never dives in and just anticipates danger and positions himself accordingly to snuff that danger out, failing that we should just get rid when carra is fit again and either promote wilson or buy a new centre back.
It's amazing how you completely absolve Agger of any blame. Oh wait...

When the ball went loose we had already stepped up to go on the attack, besides which, it's not that uncommon for one centre back to go towards the play while the other covers. Meireles fucked up, skrtel got caught because he'd stepped forward as we were about to attack, and Agger failed to get any sort of challenge in.

I agree Skrtel has been piss poor this season and we need better, but your bias between the two at times is unreal. You'd think you were Danish.

don't get me wrong agger is also to blame for the equalizer as well, the reason I focused on skrtel is because skrtel was first in line to make the challenge there for if he had anticipated miereles' fuck up he would have been in a better to clear his lines.
Ken and Spidey, many hundreds of talented youngsters have played and blossomed at clubs other than Arsenal, indeed, have blossomed in teams full of crap pros. Adam Hammill, one of the hottest young prospects out there, and someone we negligently let go, learned his trade as a teen at clubs struggling in difficult situations in difficult leagues. One of our key problems has been a lack of technique in the final third. Not only in terms of not hitting the killer pass, but having the composure and technique to hold the ball up, to alleviate or to build pressure. We have the players who can do that at reserve level, let's give them a chance to show they can do a better job than the 'crap pros'. What is the worst that can happen? We lose some games? We're doing that right now, so I don't see how it can go much worse. Blackpool fielded a 17 year old last night who caused us lots of problems. The player was full of energy and belief. We have players like that too if we are prepared to take a wee gamble.

These kids won't be shattered if they have a bad game or two, they are dying for a chance to prove themselves. I'd like us to give them a chance.
I'm not against giving some of the kids a chance - Pacheco for example has been waiting around for a while. I just think that, in some cases, it might not yield the argued benefit and is not always worth the experiment.
Anyways it's all Poulsens fault. He was the worst player ever last night.

Even the fact you are an annoying posters is Poulsen's fault I'm sure.
Whether or not he was worse than the rest of our squadron of shit is completely irrelevant.

He was an atrocious purchase, viewed through any lens. He is a player with no resale value who is staggeringly actually getting worse over time. He was part of an exchange for a player, that despite obvious weaknesses that make him totally inappropriate for our team in this league, does offer quality in some aspect of play, while Poulsen, in addition to being unathletic and slow, has quite honestly nothing I can point to that he is good at.

You said he'd improve our midfield, and championed him. Everyone gets some things wrong. Everyone looks like a tit at some point. I thought Gonzales was the second coming for instance. I remember posting all the videos from his time on loan in Spain. When he turned out to be shit I said he was shit. Oh no, I'm wrong on a football forum.

But go right ahead and run to his defense against accusations that he's shitter than shit with the counterargument that he's just a bit shit. It's fun to watch. Except for the uncomfortable fact that if Poulsen has to play many more matches, we'll get relegated.

I blame Agger for not anticipating that Skrtel would fuck up by not anticipating Raul's fuck up. Actually, you can't look past Pepe for a scapegoat, I mean, the whole defence has been playing like a bunch of mongs, he should have anticipated that someone was going to fuck up.

Sorry, you're really clutching at straws here Neil. 1. Lucas and Poulsen both should have been on the loose ball before it was played to Gary Fletcher Taylor. 2. Gary Taylor Fletcher waltzed past the closest defender, Agger, like he was Messi. "First in line" my arse, it's a rubbish point. You just have a vendetta against Skrtel.

Does anyone not think the goal started with Torres? He laid back a terrible terrible ball to Raul. All he could do was toe poke it cause a blackpool player was gonna pick it up.

I'm not really blaming Torres, just saying it started with him. The defense should have been able to am.... defend?

He's probably biased and all but anyways still a rather interesting view from the gaffer on the Blackpool-game:

From the official

Kenny Dalglish accepts his team has to be more clinical in the final third in order to turn losses into victories.

The caretaker boss has been pleased with elements of the play during his first two games back in charge, both of which have ended in defeat.

One area that he feels can improve, though, is the precision in an opponents' half.

Dalglish said: "We just need to work with the final passing. We are not going to accept defeats as a positive for LFC and we create higher ambitions than that.

"The belief that the players have in themselves isn't as great as it should be. The most important thing though is that they want to do better and that will reflect well on the football club.

"We'll keep working at it and if they didn't have the commitment then I wouldn't be as complimentary towards them."

Dalglish took heart from the display of several of his players despite losing 2-1 against Blackpool on Wednesday - not least Fernando Torres.

El Nino lashed home an unstoppable effort to give the Reds an early lead and even though the game didn't go as planned, the new manager was pleased with his star striker.

"It was a great goal from Fernando and he was unlucky that he didn't get another one," said Dalglish.

"He volleyed over the bar and their goalkeeper made a couple of saves to stop him as well.

"Fernando was a positive against Blackpool, as was Martin Kelly again. I thought Daniel Agger did really well because he wasn't well before the game and Poulsen in the middle did well.

"There are a lot of positives for us, but there are others things that we have to work on."

Dalglish is now hoping his players can rise to the occasion and restore Mersey pride for the Reds after their 2-0 reversal at Goodison Park back in October.

"A derby is always a great occasion in every city in the world that has one. It takes a lot of beating to rival this one though."

Hahaha thought a comment like that would be made now, what else have you got?

Sunny (quickly followed by others) attacked me left, right and center for beeing seriously out of my mind defending Poulsen's performance yesterday and because I dared to highlight that for me he wasn't the main area of concern in that game.

Call me whatever you like, I'm merely defending my stance. Pleased Kenny helped me out a bit.

Kris goes over board because he's Danish, but he wasn't the worst the other night and some of his first half play was good, particularly for the goal. He disappeared in the second half though, but he hasn't played for a while either.

He's not good enough and he's knocking on a bit too. The problem is he's completely the wrong type of DM for us, we need someone who will chase players down and win the ball back, he's more lightweight than that and not quick or dynamic enough, he reads the game well enough and to give the guy his due, some of his passing can be quite good, but without a midfield enforcer with a bit of drive and pace about them, we look shite, and our midfielders look even worse.

You take yourself far too seriously for this site KHL. Whatever point you were trying to make, this whole episode and has been a total cringefest. Read Farky's post above. It pretty much sums things up perfectly.

Ah good ol Kenny and his never-ending snide remarks.

I'm out.

I think we can end this very quickly:

Torres and Reina were the 'best' performers on the night.

Not including Torres & Reina: Lucas, Kelly, Agger & Johnson (due to 'new position'), everyone was shit

Not including Torres, Reina, Lucas, Kelly, Agger & Johnson: Poulsen was the best 'shitty player' out of the shitty players we had against Blackpoo.

Conclusion: He's still shit and should be sold in the summer.

What on earth are quacking on about?

Anyways I thought Farky's post was more or less spot too Del but he's kind of missed what we've been discussing in this thread.

THE BLACKPOOL GAME.

Read through the post again and look how it developed. Sunny gave me shite for saying Poulsen wasn't the worst player and it went on from there. It has got NOTHING to do with me saying he's good enough. I've admitted hundred times he's been a poor buy.

Fair enough if people disagree I just don't get the need for trying to put eachother down on here all the time.

Defending your stance?

When he arrived, you proclaimed him to be the Second Coming.

Only to be quickly convinced he was shit, and admirably you then accepted that he was shit and accepted that you weren't infallible.

And he was shit, shit beyond shit...and it was gratifying to see that you werent totally myopic.

Now you've changed your mind again and convinced yourself that he wasnt shit.

Why?

Because there were shitter players against Blackpool?

There probably were, but the fact is that everyone who did watch the game said he was shit.

Except you.

Then you round on Sunny because he didnt watch the game and said he was shit.

Do you know why he said he was shit?.Because Sunny would have met his friend Bob at the King Harry after the game (who would have been at the game) and asked him 'how was Poulsen'?. And the answer would have been 'fucking shit'.

Perhaps in your eyes he should have said 'fucking shit but not as fuckinger shit as Jovanovic'?

Why?

Sunny has also seen lots of games where Poulsen was shit.

How do I know this?.Because he's also been shit in every game I've seen him in.

Nobody really cares if he wasnt the shittest player against Blackpool.

Do you know why this thread has gone on for so long?

Because I'd say that most of these posters like you and can't fathom why you want to fight such a losing battle.
As for Kenny 'helping you out', did you really expect him to say Poulsen's 'fucking shit'?

Avvy - you're not reading what he's saying mate.

He still thinks he's shit (he doesn't hate him, neither do I really) and thinks he should be sold. He just thinks he wasn't the 'shittiest' midfielder on the pitch against Blackpool.

He has no issues with him being sold in the summer.

What he's saying is that Poulsen couldnt have been fucking shit if there were other players more fucking shit.

And I'd say that idea is well, fucking shit.
