Jurgen Klopp has held talks with Mohamed Salah as Liverpool continue transfer negotiations with Roma, according to reports in Italy.
Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the Liverpool manager has personally spoken to the Egypt international in order to convince him that joining Anfield is the right move.

The report claims that the winger felt ‘very important’ following Klopp’s call, and the German’s involvement now makes the prospect of a transfer all the more likely.
Liverpool have already had a £26 million offer for the 24-year-old rejected and Roma are now holding out for a fee in the region of £35m.

On Thursday, reports in Italy claimed that Salah’s agent is in England to continue talks with Liverpool, while the midfielder had privately revealed to friends that the chance to return to the Premier League is an option.
The Egyptian was signed by Chelsea for £11m in January 2014 but was sold just over two years later having made only 19 appearances.

This season, Salah has been one of Roma’s key players in Serie A with 15 goals and 11 assists.
His arrival at Anfield would considerably bolster Klopp’s options in attack as Liverpool struggled for pace in wide areas in Sadio Mane’s absence this term.

Its great to hear that Klopp is the X Factor for this transfer and reason he wants to join and nothing to do with his wages being doubled...

I'd rather klopp talk to him and double his wages, than us have to treble his wages without klopp

Roma have to sell this year apparently. They had a load of loan purchases with compulsory purchases coming in on this set of accounts and they need to balance it for FFP. Rudiger is also likely to be sold.

My only concern is can either he or Mane be equally effective on the left. Either way the thought of having both of them in the attack is giving me tingles. £35m is looking pretty cheap given the market at the moment so I hope we get this one over the line.

I hear it's the same situation with van Dijk, believe it or not.

Yeh the more I think about this one the more I like it. He and Mane on either side sounds nice, and by the sound of it, he's not tied to just one position either. If he can replicate the same figures he had for Roma for us, that price is a steal. Big if though...

My mane concern with him is that he really didn't adjust well to the Premiership. I think we can do better

He was 20-21 and barely had a chance playing for Maureen, who isn't exactly trusting when it comes to younger players. As has been said, Lukaku and De Bruyne were packed off by Maureen in the same era. There is nothing about him that isn't suited to the PL.

Hope Salah ends up like Lukaku and De Bruyne. That would be great.

ESPN were reporting that Balde Keita is a back up option to Salah. Would he be a better fit for us? Not seen enough of him.

Have we decided to only sign African players this summer?

Half our squad will be missing in January 2019 at this rate.

A few reports from Egypt claiming we have agreed 40m euro fee (£35.2m) and he will sign after the 2 games for the national side next Monday & Friday. Nothing more official yet though.

Yep, This is being reported a few places now

Liverpool & Roma have finally agreed a fee for Mohamed Salah in the region of €40m. His agent will fly to England to finalise. [Sky Italia]

So according to the tweets (sorry Rosco) of a Doha based sports correspondent (who is supposedly a friend of Salah) this is a done deal- 40 million euros (£35 million).

Out of curiosity how has Felipe Anderson been doing at Lazio? He was flavour of the month last season for a lot of teams

Let's hope he shakes hands with opposing teams!
I like this kid - I think he can be as important to our team as Mane is. Pace, goals, etc

Liverpool have agreed a €40M (£35M) fee with Roma for the transfer of Mohamed Salah and the deal is expected to be made official shortly according to multiple reports today, with BeIN Sports and Sky Italia both claiming that a return to England for Salah is now a certainty.

This follows earlier reports in the English press that the player had agreed a £90k per week deal with Liverpool and was eager to complete his transfer following talks with manager Jürgen Klopp. However, the most recent reports from journalists with ties to Liverpool have only said that the two clubs are still negotiating.
Liverpool previously had an offer of €32M rejected by Roma, who were reportedly holding out for a €45M fee for Salah, though the consensus was that a compromise deal of around €40M would satisfy all parties. It’s possibly, then, that the latest reports out of Italy and Egypt are premature.
It’s possible that, in the transfer rumour echo chamber, earlier talk of a €40M compromise satisfying all parties has now turned into a €40M compromise having been made. Still, Salah’s transfer to Liverpool as the club’s first major signing of the summer increasingly looks a question of when, not if.

Salah has excelled as a scoring winger since landing at Roma in 2015 on loan from Chelsea. In 2015-16 he scored 14 goals and eight assists in 34 Serie A appearances for a goal involvement every 124 minutes. In 2016-17 Roma made his move permanent and he scored 15 goals and 13 assists for a goal involvement every 89 minutes.
Though there are some concerns about his tendency to run hot and cold as well as questions about whether he has benefitted from playing against more conservative, stand-off defenders that give him the time and space to work up to speed in Italy, it is unquestionably a world class return in front of goal.
Even for a striker it would be such, and in most ways, that is the role Salah has filled at Roma this season and would be expected to fill at Liverpool next season—that of a wide forward, a striker who starts wide and drifts off the wing, most from the right to take advantage of his left-footedness.
