Its been a done deal for nearly two weeks now. A new done every day. If we add them all up it might actually get done in December.
Just because we've changed how we digest news doesn't mean transfers should be done any quicker. For the likes of Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City they will happily pay over the odds for a player we cannot. I'm hoping Klopp gets his choice of players he can work with. His called it "a project" so I guess it will take time for whoever he signs to adapt to his style.

Salah tells Roma he wants Liverpool move - report

Mohamed Salah has told Roma that he wants to leave the club and move to Liverpool this summer, according to Sky Italia.
The news broke late last night as Liverpool continued negotiations with the Serie A giants in order to thrash out a deal for the Egypt winger.
If true, then Salah’s request to leave the club will put pressure on the Italian side to reach a compromise with the Reds.

Mido on Salah:

“Liverpool’s style of play suits Salah perfectly and Klopp’s style suits him.

“I’m not concerned about the competition Salah will face in Liverpool but I just fear he might not be able to cope with the higher tempo of playing in the Premier League.”

I'm not sure how those two sentences fit together in his noddle.

The second sentence kinda contradicts itself too, unless he's saying that his competition also can't cope with the tempo.

Would that be "wants Liverpool move" like he did last time? 'Coz if so he can get to feck.

If Monchi can get us to pay what we did for Luis Alberto, one can expect him to do even more with Salah.

"For Salah there is an offer from an English club but the price will be set by Roma, not the buyers," sporting director Monchi told a press conference for the presentation of new coach Eusebio Di Francesco.

"As I've said before, Roma is not a supermarket. Roma is a team that will represent Italy in Europe.

"We came second in Serie A and our idea is to keep as good a team as possible.
"At the same time no club exists that does not sell players."

I had forgotten Monchi had moved there. The chances of us getting value for money signing from Roma is very low unless there is a contract issue.

The words pompous and ass spring to mind.

I see no issues in those statements. We try every dirty trick in the book to save a few million quid. They don't want to sell the player unless they get the money they want. We have adopted that stand number of times in the past.

Roma have agreed to sell Rudiger to Inter which wipes out their FFP deficit. They can demand whatever for Salah now.

It was never gonna make an enormous difference, but yeh, they're more likely to hold out for a little more possibly now.

Where did you hear that? Monchi said Rudiger wasn't for sale and that no one was leaving apart from Salah.
various Italian and UK news outlets have said over the last few days that inter beat Chelsea to Rudiger and had agreed a deal.

I don't buy this.

They are professionals. We're naive to expect loyalty (although great when it's shown). Sad but, ultimately, true.
I was just going to post the same. What if it was you and you wanted to change jobs ? Would you object if your current employer tried to put obstacles in your way or forbid you to leave ? It's just a job to most pros, it obviously means more to the fans than to the players. Which I agree with on both counts.

In other words .. we are selling Salah and however much we get for him ... that will have been our asking price *cough*.
