Milner to City?

Status
Not open for further replies.
Milner isn't miles better, he's better suited to this league and more versatile.

Glad you've made your assessment based on a few games as per, we should start calling you Wikifuckingpedia.

He's a spinless, injury-prone shithouse and we should get rid asap and try and buy Scott Parker, or someone similar, ie can run, tackle, pass and shoot and gets stuck in. I wish we'd bought him years ago.

I'd move for him if Masher left.

That tackle on Joe Cole makes me laugh every time I see it.

I'd take Joe Cole too.

He would be more of a stop-gap solution if Mascherano left than a replacement for Aquilani, wouldn't he?

But if Mascherano really leaves he'd not be the silliest solution. I think we should aim higher though.

Stop-gap, sure, but we're not blessed with money.

Who do you suggest?

I suggest that we keep Aquilani next season at least.

I'd like to see what he can do when given a whole pre-season training and at full fitness.

If Mascherano really left then I doubt we'd be able to find someone who'd improve us. He's one of the best in his position in the world.

Milner and Young is 22 mill £ and Aqua was 17,1, but yeah I see your point.

We should however have gone for Young and not Pennant. 7 mill vs 9,5 mill. But thats the story of Rafas transfer dealings, should have.
Im pretty sure Aqua cost us £20M
Nope, 17,1 mill. But if we win the league etc I think there could be some add ons. First payment was only 5 mill though.

As I recall it the fee was:

£5M upfront
£3M Jan 10
£7M Jun 2010. A very significant and fast approaching date.
£5M Jun 2011

There are also addons, one of which is £1M, if we win the league by 2014. So I suppose we are safe on that one

If Milner and Young are the height of Man City's ambitions there isn't a whole lot for the league to worry about
I seem to recall hearing about them being interested in a certain Spanish striker who occasionally plays for our club...

Torres wouldn't go to City.

If he does, we know how to break him.
I doubt City would want our physio's, however much we insisted.

I didn't say it was realistic, just commenting on City's ambitions. Which are considerable.

I'll break Torres in half myself if he signs for City. Or Chelsea. If we can't have him, no one can!

The LFC accounts showed mentioned that the minimum we will pay for Krygiakos and Aquilani is 20.4m. 17.1m is only correct if you use an exchange rate that didn't exist at the time.

Kyrgiakos is generally thought to be a 2m signing, meaning Aquilani was a minimum of 18.4m.

Milner wants to join us. Let's get the deal done.
Yeah, deffo.

Villa have already knocked back a 20M bid from the richest club in the world, we're utterly fucking broke, Villa have a wonderful history of dealing with us over transfers (Barry anyone?), and not to mention the general bonhomie that exists between MON & Rafa... That all leads me to believe that this should be a piece of piss alright.

Ha, open goal, but nicely put away.

;D hahahaaaaaa Ryan! Wish we had the funds for the deal but sadly we have to accept the reality that we are skint. With all the players we have been linked to recently, you'll think there's a Sheikh (and not Yerbouti :laugh🙂 lurking in the background ready to splash the cash.
