A beast and a very underrated player. The way he took it past Johnson yesterday was superb, and his header too. Between him and Johnson, England right back should be completely sorted.

In Richard-Toure-Kompany-Kolorov City have an amazing back four.

I think what was more impressive was johnson tried to shoulder barge him off the ball and couldn't.

Exactly, he's got strength in buckets, I think he'd make a fantastic centre back. He should play centre back for England imo, much better than Terry or Ferdinand.

Monster of a player. Can't believe he's not in the England set up. Lucky city.

He's improved loads recently, that's why he hasn't been playing for England, he was fat and crap.

When Patrick Viera asked Micah Richards what his football ambition was, he replied "To get back into the England team" Viera then replied "Well if that's the case, why are you the last to arrive for training and the first to leave"

Enrique bounced off Richards last night.

I actually laughed.

It was funny watching him as a kid because he was such a physical presence and almost bullied the opposition. He's overpowering anything that gets in his path even now as a pro.

I remember him and Sturridge playing the second leg of the FA Youth Cup final against our kids, a few years ago. (They didn't play in the first leg).

We had a lead from the first game at Anfield, and thank fuck, because they ran riot on us at Eastlands.

Richards looked like a man then !

He's behind Kyle Walker in the right back stakes at the moment isn't he? Haven't really seen enough of either of them to be able to tell who's better.

I don't think you're giving Walker enough credit Mystic, I think he's an excellent player and England are blessed to have the choice of him, Richards, Johnson or Kelly (although I think Kelly's days as a right back are limited).

He's only played half a season at the top and the main reason, imo, he's looked good is because he's lightning fast, I'd wait to see him really tested before giving him the light of day. Richards and Johnson have been performing, better imo, at the top flight for 6+ years, this is just another one of those stupid Spurs "OMG he's the best in the country" bandwagons, just like they were with Defoe, Lennon, Huddlestone, Dawson, King, they're tiresome and almost always fall short.

Always rated Richards massively and I'd love him at Liverpool. Wouldn't swap him with our Glen mind.

I saw him for the first time 3 years ago when I went to a Burnley V Sheffield United game. Burnely were destroying Sheffield United and winning 1-0 in the first half and the manager made a substitution bringing on Walker. Wade Elliot was runnin riot down the Sheffield United right wing and the manager took the left back off and replaced him with Walker. Even though he was playing left back (as to his preferred right back) he completely blunted Elliotts threat and suddenly their defence looked a lot more solid. The game ended 1-0 but Sheffield United were a match for Burnley in the last hour.

It was a very impressive performance from such a young player and I've kept an eye on him ever since - i've yet to see him have a bad game. Apart from phenomenal speed, he is very skillful, has a great shot and reads the game quite well. He is definitely not a "bandwagon" player.

Richards has always been a player of merit. He had a spell where he believed his own hype, and other people doubted his ability.

I remember the debate on here whether we should launch a 3M bid for him or not.

12 months in the top flight, he was on loan at Villa last season and was brilliant for them. I'm not saying he's as good as Glenjo or Richards but IMO he deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as them. His team mate Kyle Naughton (who is currently on loan at Norwich) is another who I think will have an excellent career.

Ive enjoyed watching Enrique physically dominated players all season. He's a beast of a man!

Word for word what Pesam said. Also Walker didn't have a shabby U21 Euro Championship last Summer, from what I remember he was one of England's best players. I'm glad you've mentioned Kyle Naughton too, whose been in the Championships PFA Team of the Year twice, not bad for a player who has just turned 23.

His upper body strength is comical at times. He shrugs people of the ball with ease

I wanted us to sign him 2-3 seasons ago when he didn't play much. His progress had stagnated but he was worth a shot. We haven't been good at snapping up cheapish players (from WH or Leeds etc) who's had a poor(er) season.

I really don't think he's that good on the ball.

Strength, pace, aggression, decent attitude, fit as fuck, yeah. On the ball? Glenjo and Kyle Walker have him in that respect.

He's a stream roller in attack. People tend to just bounce off him

Fundamentally he has the physicality to be one of the best cbs in the country, but he needs to work on his concentration
