[article=http://www1.skysports.com/transfer/news/15198/9199121/sky-sports-scout-in-association-with-wyscout-reports-on-martin-hinteregger]Already on the radar of a host of Premier League clubs, we assess Austrian star Martin Hinteregger.

A commanding figure, who stands at 6ft 1in, Hinteregger is an imposing defender and very much in the English style.

It is Hinteregger's style of play that has no doubt attracted the attention of a number of clubs.

Naturally left-footed, he loves to play a long pass from the back, but is equally adept at starting to build from defence by feeding the midfield.

He is quick with a good first touch, but it is his physicality and aggression that really make him stand out.

Hinteregger began playing football aged just seven for his local village side SGA Albeck, where his father Franz was a coach.

By the age of 14, the youngster had been spotted by Salzburg's scouts and tied to the club in a cooperation deal, before moving to Salzburg in 2006.

In 2008, he was promoted to the squad as a full-time player although he was already playing for the club's Under-17 side.

Just two years later and after a brief spell with the club's reserves, Hinteregger was promoted to the first-team and made his debut in October 2010.

Following his debut, Hinteregger has never looked back and has quickly established himself at the heart of Salzburg's defence.

He has been involved in Austria's national sides since Under-17 level and has progressed quickly through each the ranks. He was handed his senior bow in November 2013 against the United States.

Having made the breakthrough for Austria, the clubs are very much circling around Hinteregger.

Manchester United boss David Moyes is reported to have personally checked on him, whilst Arsenal, Liverpool and Italian giants Juventus have all been linked.

The scout says...

Hinteregger does look well suited to the Premier League. He is physical but a good footballer too and defending is very much his first priority.

A summer move for the 21-year-old should not be ruled out, he could very well be Premier League-bound.

The Scout rating...

Shooting: 6 out of 10
Passing: 7 out of 10
Tackling: 8 out of 10
Heading: 8 out of 10
Pace: 8 out of 10
Vision: 7 out of 10
Current ability: 7 out of 10
Potential ability: 10 out of 10
OVERALL SCOUT RATING: 61/80
Current value: £6million
Potential value: £26million[/article]

Their potential ability is always rated as 10/10 in these things, as if they can all become Messi. If they just mean the best of THEIR potential, then that's like giving Konchesky 10/10, in other words, not very helpful.

The potential value thing they do is the same. He could be worth...shakes magic 8 ball with numbers....14 mill £ in the future

Sadio Mane from Red Bull Salzburg also look pretty interesting. 21 years old winger/forward. 25 goals in 45 games.

Is it just me, or does he have a massive fucking arse? He looks like he could go all Neville Southall if he didn't train for a month.

His name Hinteregger actually indicated that he'll be behind Agger.
haha
we have so many fucking defenders, few on loan and few playing for us currently, few usless like poor Kelly...if we sign anyone we better get someone like Hummelsm Höwdes otherwise first sort the fuck out with the existing young squad

Egger for Agger?

What we really need here is Holle's view on this guy.

At 21 he's still quite young but actually he's one of the best defenders in the Austrian Bundesliga already. Yes, I know what you want to say but he's also playing really well in Salzburg's Europa League campaign. That's lots of top drawer clubs around Europe (especially from England) are scouting him.

His biggest strengths in my opinion are his excellent technique and his very good positioning and vision. He's already playing like a very experienced CB.

His biggest weakness is that at over 6 ft he loses too many aerial duels. He's become much better in this aspect, but still. It's my biggest concern about him.

It would be a gamble in my eyes, but which transfer is not.

Our reported interest in this lad as well as Vertongen strongly suggests that Agger will be sold. Looks like BR wants another LCB to compete with Sakho.

I wonder what he is thinking for RCB. Is he happy with Skrtel? Or is the long-term plan to groom Ilori or Wisdom or to buy another player?

Probably lliori will take that position

Can we not go for a defender who's a beast in the air? It's kind of worrying that it's one thing we seriously lack, yet we seem to be going for defenders who first and foremost can play a bit.

That's what I meant.

I'm sure Hinteregger will do well somewhere, but I don't think he'd help us much from the scratch.
