[article=http://as.com/diarioas/2015/04/08/english/1428472956_115991.html]Since he has been demoted to the subs’ bench, the team is back winning after a run of four consecutive defeats… Ødegaard doesn’t adapt his game to his team mates and that is why the technical staff have realised that they have no other option but to leave him on the bench for the time being.

It’s not so much resentment on behalf of the Castilla team but more a case of the Norwegian continually making the wrong choice. Ødegaard has refused to train with the reserves and only joins in with training sessions on the eve of the team’s games.

The newcomer and his father seek refuge in the clause included his contract with Madrid which stipulates that the club must ensure that he trains with the senior squad five days a week… Yet neither Ødegaard nor his father seem to realize that changing tack and taking the advice they’ve been given on board is the right thing to do as the teenager’s progress with Castilla constitutes an essential part of his own development.

Regrettably, some players have complained that the teenager “can’t be bothered”.[/article]

Better to join us ... We'll develop ya for 5-7 years and then you can move on to the big teams ...

Bullet dodged if that's the attitude

Rum coves, the Scandos. Good with chocolate and bacon, but they catch fish and then bury it in the ground! No, there's something badly wrong with the lot of them!

Its not true to begin with and people speculating about his attitude are all wrong.
Ødegaard commented on this the other day and said it wasnt true.
One of the games he missed was when he was away with the National team.

What about the rest though - the games when he wasn't on national duty, and the team's upturn in form since he was dropped? Can there be this much smoke without any fire at all?

Fact that Madrid have let this creep out kind of gives the impression something is amiss

I dont think so at all. That article is very speculative to say the least. Currently he's training 5 times with the first team and once with Castilla.
He'll apparently be with the first team squad after this season and not Castilla anymore.

I can see them suggesting that he should train more with Castilla these next few months but talk of attitude issues, no chance. He's the most level headed lad you'll ever meet and he works his socks off to succeed.
Maybe he should train more with Castilla in the near future, that would obviously be good for him if he's going to play for more games for them. If Real and Zidane wants him to then he needs to do that.
That is surely something the club and the player has gotten complete control over.

I highly doubt any of the other players have an issue with him. He said himself that he's been welcomed by everyone and they're helping him settle in. Its inevitable though that some might be envious about his salary, but that's hardly his fault.
Dont forget he's a 16 year old boy who has moved to a new country, new language, new culture etc etc.
Missed one game through international footy and been on the bench for the next one. Hardly that big of a deal.

People love this sort of stuff though. As soon as someone suggests that he has a chip on his shoulder or that he's a massive tit its nailed on to be true.

How you met the guy?

Yeah, I don't see how an article, several days after the original means he's always had a good attitude

By that logic, I could not eat a big Mac for a couple of days and claim I'm a long term vegetarian

For all I know your reporter mate could be the Norwegian Jamie sanderson

It means the speculative story about him a week ago was just that, speculative.
Real wanted him to train more with Castilla. He's done so the entire week.
Like the BS English media this was a similar non story by the Spanish.

Anyhoo, people can believe what they want about him. Norwegians know what he's like and will hopefully have a lot of good moments on the pitch with him. Hopefully going to the Euros or World cup again.

He's a great lad with a spot on attitude and will be a top player for many years.

Heh, you'd think people knew him and his dad going by the comments on here. Sadly the "observations" are a long way from the truth.
Looks like this thread has run its course now imho. Hopefully Ødegaard will develop into a very good player at Real.

I hope he fails unless he gets good then comes to play for Liverpool 😉
