I have never felt this empty before a game against them. I have no hope at all...especially considering there´s a risk that we´ll field Lucas and Poulsen at cm. It´s Friday but I can´t look forward to this weekend.
Am I beeing too negative?

Just a dream?

Probably. I think the most likely result for us is defeat, particularly if he does play Pucas in CM, which I suspect he will. But I've been similarly defeatist before United away matches in the past, and we haven't always lost them. There's always a chance of a 'Danny Murphy'-style 0-1 win...

Lucas usually has a decent game against them for some reason, but there should be no way he and Poulsen both start in this. Uniteds midfield isn't the most dynamic, and playing Gerrard alongside one of the others should be fairly effective.

I think Maxi would be fairly useless in this game, Babel can't really be trusted, so playing Johnson on the right-wing wouldn't be the worst idea. I'd personally play either:

Torres
Jovanovic Cole Johnson
Gerrard Lucas
Konchesky Agger Skrtel Carragher

Torres
Cole Jovanovic
Gerrard Meireles
Poulsen
Konchesky Carragher Skrtel Johnson

Neither Lucas nor maxi should play, because they're fucking shit

Other than that, I'm not arsed, although obviously Babel should feature because he's Ryan Babel.

The last part is the right answer

I suspect Lucas will give way to Poulsen.

He's the only recognizable DM.

the reason lucas has done unusually well against the mancs is that a high tempo pressing midfield is the key to beating them, they like to spread the ball out wide and let the wingers carry it but they dont really have any great pace or steel in the middle of the park and can be bossed out of it (see Everton last season) this is where the mascher lucas axis did well against Utd because combined with Kuyts tireless running it exposed the weakness in their midfield, namely that its one paced

I would hope to see Poulsen and Meireles in the middle but whoever is given that brief standing off and letting Utd, Scholes in particular, pick their passes with time and space in the middle is a recipe for disaster. We have to be aggressive here, its the way to get a result, show them no respect, get in amongst them and get your tackles in first, Giggs and Scholes will tire in a high tempo game and Nani will drift out of it completely if denied an effective supply line

Win the battle in the middle and you win the game because I trust Gerrard Torres and Cole to have enough to create oppurtunites against a Utd back four lacking in cohesion right now

This is not a game for Maxi or Jovanavic, indecision here will be very costly

If Roy develops a set of Cojones, I'm confident for this game. We have the team good enough to win, question is if our manager is going to act like an underconfident deer in highlights or if he's going to "man-up" with some self belief.

United aren't exactly firing on all cylinders at the moment. Leaking lots of goals too. Berbatov and Scholes though are playing really well, so we'll do good to stop them.

We've got a fit Torres though and he seems to be in a habit of scoring against them at the moment. You're being way too negative. It's obviously going to be a tough game, maybe the toughest of the season, but we're certainly capable of getting a result. Hopefully it's Gerrard and Meireles in the middle with Cole in the hole behind Torres. Straight away that's a much better side that lost against City.

Hodgson just said we have to field our best 11 on sunday. That should be enough to not include Pucas.

My only worry is that Meireles played 90 mins yesterday.

Yeh, I would have liked him to be taken off after 70 mins, that would have been a good indication he would be playing in Sunday. Either way, he's still capable of playing another 90 3 days later, but the fact he played the full 90 probably reveals Roys hand.

I hope your wrong becasue that team will get swatted aside by 2 or 3 goals, the Lucas/Poulsen axis will never work and starve Torres into one of his sulks while Maxi is not suited to this or any other premiership/high tempo game, Evra could mark him in his sleep

Also the assertion that Hodgson will play his best XI is baffling becasue so far he seems to have no idea what that is

I fear you're right about Pucas, but I think Jovanovic will play on the left with Cole on the right. Maxi has played both the last two matches (and been pretty poor in both), which suggests to me he won't start this one.

By the way, more pussyole quotes from old ballbag face today about Torres. Basically its ok if he plays like a cunt against united. No problem to old pma Roy!

If Roy starts for Pucas in the middle then I'll start to lose faith in him.

We'd would certainly get beat, and anyone in football would know this.

Yes Ossi you are being too negative however it's away at OT against a better team full of better footballers ... However if our big players all have a blinder and we can negate theirs then we do have a chance and I'm fucked if I'll concede defeat before the games even kicked off.

As for playing Lucas and Poulsen .... I hope not .... But as of yet Roy has shown little or no clue as to what his best 11 is so I wouldn't be surprised to see that dread combo tbh

Im not over confident but how can you suggest that they are full of better players than us. Reina, Gerrard, Torres, Johnson, Cole are better than anything they have.
