Waiting for @Rory Fitzgerald top pop in and give us a decent preview, but until then....

City are without Zabaleta, Nastasic and Aguero. Jovetic is still doubtful.

Last line up:

-------------------Hart
Clichy Kompany Demichelis Kolarov

--------Fernandinho----Touré------
-------------------Silva
----Negredo----------------------Nasri
--------------------Dzeko

My thoughts:

No changes, same team that started against Cardiff and Spurs.
Basically, we need to do the same thing we did to Spurs. However, this time around we're playing a team that seems to be scoring for fun so we need to be disciplined at the back and not give them any free kicks outside the box. We should be able to score against them.

Also....

Toure against Allen and Lucas...he'll eat them.

Lucas dominated him last year at Anfield before his injury. I can only hope that happens too.

Their backline could be exposed - Demichellis is slow and should get eaten alive by Suarez. Neither Clichy or Kolarov are great defenders, Sterling and Coutinho could cause them serious headaches.

It comes down to two things:

1) how we handle set pieces
2) how they handle our press and movement

Should be a great game ...

COME ON YOU REDS ... give us a win ...

i cant fucking wait, fuck crimbo im well more arsed about this, lucas and henderson need to be on form, sakho can handle dzeko but we need to be organised at the back to make sure he doesnt get any free headers, their defence wont be able to handle us, 4-2 liverpool let fuckin have it

Its not as impossible as its being made out to be, we outplayed them both times last season, we have just as much attacking threat as them and will be well up for it, couple of weeks ago would of thought not much of a chance to get anything but now it wouldn't suprise if we went there and won.

I like your confidence but that is some team they can put out despite their injuries. I would be over the moon with a point, think we have a better chance of a win at Chelsea myself

Loads of talk on Twitter and a couple of other forums that Sturridge and Gerrard are close to being back to full fitness.
They might be on the bench for the game against Chelsea, some are saying Studge could make the bench vs City.
Hopefully its true and we'll have even more attacking options.

Just leaving Melwood after Brendan Rodgers' pre Man City press conference. Jon Flanagan is a doubt for Boxing Day, hamstring problem.
Rodgers says coming week will test LFC's squad. Down to 17 senior players at the moment. May give chances for youngsters to step up.
Expect Martin Kelly to come in at RB v City. Johnson across to LB.

Yeah agree about Chelsea, they just look there for the taking right now, obviously City are a freaky force at home but i wouldn't put anything past us right now with Suarez on the pitch, not saying we will win but its not some impossible task.

Setpieces is a big issue, I hope we sort our shit out because they can be pretty lethal from corners and freekicks.

Update, Zabaleta will most likely be back for the game.

Also, they're currently playing a 4-4-2 formation.

-------------------Hart

Zabaleta Kompany Demichelis Clichy

Nasri-----------------------------------Silva

------------Negredo--------Dzeko

Arsenal play West Ham, Chelsea play Swansea and Everton play Sunderland.

We could be 5th if we lose this.

does any one remember how Bayern Münich gave them, eh.... BR also praised that performance after the match between these two sides. I expect something similar tactics from Liverpool. Just that we dont have similar quality on the pitch,
schweini, lahm, kroos and allen, Lucas, hendo 😱 but i think we will make their life difficult, even if we lose, it will be very close guys.
but fuck me, who has suarez in his team.

We definetly can, but even a loss wont define our season.
We play Spurs, Arsenal, Everton, City, Chelsea and Newcastle at home in the 2nd half of the season.
We're in it regardless of 5th tomorrow night.

Really looking forward to the match. Hope the extra preperations we've done adds the extra few percent that tips it in our favour.
