Since the other thread has spiralled into a discussion about Mascherano I though I'd start a thread focusing on the game at hand.

The Liverpool team in full: Reina, Johnson, Agger, Carragher, Skrtel, Kuyt, Gerrard, Lucas, Jovanovic, Ngog, Torres

Seem to be a 442 formation.

Reina, Johnson, Agger, Carragher, Skrtel, Kuyt, Gerrard, Lucas, Jovanovic, Ngog, Torres. Subs: Jones, Babel, Aurelio, Kyrgiakos, Maxi, Poulsen, Pacheco

Torres and Ngog up front won't work

Lets at least give it a go before we run it down. I'm bored of the one up front malarkey with Torres chasing shadows and then getting fucked off and sulking.

Probably not.
Oh fuck I just noticed it, your avatar...is it that corrupt politician on "the wire"?

Last year we moaned our arses off because Rafa didn't take a more attacking approach to away games. And it showed as we won 2 out 12 away games against top 12 teams last season.

Well, we got 4-4-2 away from home. And if Lucas wasn't in there this would have been an excellent upgrade for last season defensive tactics. Still, we now at least look like we can get a goal.

COME ON YOU REDMEN!

The fact of having two strikers does not necessarily mean a more attacking approach. We're going to be awful today. Anonymous in the middle with Lucas, agricultural in the wings, putrid up front with N'gog taking away all the space that Torres loves to exploit, and hoofball from the back due to our total lack of guile in midfield.

Gerrard is going to run around and battle and be frustrated with the lack of football in the side. Torres will have one of his sulky days. We'll lose without scoring.

Prove me wrong. Please.

What's up with Mascher? Good lineup except for Lucas who will undoubtebly be a passenger. I'd rather a half fit Poulsen.

Never mind Mascher, what the fuck is up with Andy Gray poncing about on a tiny little bit of astroturf in the Sky Studio ?

Who thought this was a good idea ?

COME ON YOU MIGHTY AWESOME BRILLIANT REDS

We'll win.

You should have started a separate Mascherano thread.

richard keys seems to be loving it.

Obviously this thing about Mascherano telling Roy he didnt want to play is looking true, as Roy has said he's not in the right frame of mind to play.

Roy also saying the club will stick to their guns and if the offer doesnt match our valuation, he wont go. He also said he hopes/expects to be able to pick him again after tonight.

Didn't see the interview myself but this is another person's coments on what Roy just said. Anyone else see it?

Yeah, Count.

Roy said he didn't know where Mascherano was tonight, then pulled back and said he didn't feel it was right to select him because he's not in the right frame of mind, but he hopes to be able to pick him in the future.

He said there were obviously clubs interested in him but unless the clubs valuation of Mascherano is met he'll stay.

Handled it pretty well, in the sense that he didn't really give anything away.

yeah i saw it. it's looking like it's all true.

what a fucking disgrace. it'd be so fucking sweet if we got taken over and could afford to let the little prick rot for the next two years.

A fine of a weeks wages has to be the minimum punishment.

Players are paid to play, and millions and millions of people would give their right ball to run out wearing the red shirt.

He can fuck off.

Lost all respect for Masher now, the whiney fucking gypsy looking Argie....

Throwing his toys out the pram saying he wont play for us again! We made you, you bucked toothed idiot.....

I hope you move to Barca then dont get in the team cos you arent good enough to get in it anyway.
