I agree with you that we look vulnerable when (trying to) defend. To me it is the whole teams capability to defend that is the issue, not the defence alone.
Downing and Lucas deserve to get dropped for their performaces against Arsenal.
Also, I'd start Suarez in the centre.

They were both rested against Arsenal. And Downing and Lucas were awful.
Like I said, they need more of a rest. Sterling was awful against Oldham.
Also, Henderson seems to favour getting forward these days. Putting him alongside Gerrard can only be playing into his hands surely?
Lucas didnt do much against Arsenal, but still more than allen has done in his games. I would actually like to see Shelvey in there with some more energy than we have seen so far.

Yeah it was an awful way to lose two points against Arsenal it was still however a much improved performance compared to what we've seen against the top teams earlier this Season. These 11 also gave Norwich a torid time and as City are not quite as strong on the ball as Arsenal we should be able to (dare to, if you like) push our lines further forward than against Arsenal.
Baring injuries this is the team Rodgers will pick I am positive.

Rodgers said it was highly unlikely Countinho will get a run out this weekend. He said they need to evaluate him first to see where he is at.
I want to see a 4-4-2. Sterling and Downing working their socks off on the flanks, and Suarez and Sturridge free to roam. Hendo and Gerrard to work centrally.
I think Suarez and Sturridge are capable to create trouble on their own, and I believe we need employ Suarez higher up before he get knackered.

I was going to ask you what drugs you were taking when I saw this. Then I realised I was on Tapatalk and the formatting is all fucked up.
Luckily we are tearing up trees at the moment.... it will be a massive upset if we beat them, massive, they are better than us by a long fucking chalk and at home and desperate to keep up with United at the top. Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines. Since we only have 2 CMs in decent form (Gerrard and Hendo), then it might make sense to adjust the system. Lucas was a waste of space against Arsenal, unfortunately, and the fact that Allen didn't even feature tells you everything.
