I always disliked this chippy little tit, but this beggars belief:

Hillsborough campaigners have expressed disbelief and fury after it was revealed that former South Yorkshire Police chief Sir Norman Bettison has been invited to football games as a guest of Wolves chairman Steve Morgan.

The news is all the more damaging for Morgan because he is a lifelong Liverpool fan and former shareholder who mounted a takeover bid at Anfield in 2004.

Bettison quit his post as chief constable of West Yorkshire Police a year ago amid allegations over his conduct in the aftermath of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster which claimed the lives of 96 Liverpool fans.

The full extent of the police cover-up only became clear earlier this year, with the Independent Police Complaints Commission confirming that Bettison would more than likely have been sacked if he was still serving in the force.

Wolves confirmed today that the 57-year-old have been invited to a number of games by Morgan after the two men were pictured shaking hands at Bradford’s Valley Parade ground on Saturday.

A spokesman said: ‘Steve Morgan has known Norman Bettison for a number of years and he has attended Wolves games – both at Molineux and away from home – on many occasions before.’

Jay McKenna, chair of supporters' union Spirit of Shankly, said he was ‘truly astounded’ while Hillsborough Family Support Group chair Margaret Aspinall, who has since called for Bettison to be stripped of his knighthood and police pension, also reacted with disbelief.

She said: ‘How can anyone ever invite him to a football club when the concerns about what happened after Hillsborough are so well-known? It beggars belief.’

The news promoted a furious reaction from fans on Twitter and message boards.

One wrote: ‘Steve Morgan has sold his soul & spat in the face of the 96 & everyone involved with the justice campaign.’

Wolves responded on their official Twitter account, saying: ‘We've been contacted by a lot of fans regarding some tweets this morning referring to a big Wolves story.

‘The story is that Sir Norman Bettison attended the Bradford City game in the same way he has attended many Wolves games in the past.

‘Steve Morgan and Sir Norman Bettison have known each other for many years.

‘Everyone connected with the club has the utmost sympathy and respect for the victims of Hillsborough and their families.’

The 96 Liverpool supporters died at Hillsborough because of overcrowding caused by a crush on the steel-fenced terraces. Hundreds more were injured.

And to think that twat Morgan wanted to buy the club albeit on the cheap.

"Property tycoon" is friends with wrong 'un shocka.

Well actually it's quite a bit more than that really isn't it. Unless, unbeknown to us, Morgan has been putting rohypnol in Bettisons half time cuppa and then inviting prison inmates to bum him senseless. Nah can't see it myself.

Yeah, but that's like the Jeremy Clarkson/Piers Morgan twitter wars. You just hope they destroy each other. I spent a few matches stuck next to Morgan and - believe it or not - I'm really easygoing to a fault in person - and I'll never forget how bloody awful it was, that bloke is repulsive.
