City get an extra English player without the cash counting towards ffp figures.

As city own New York it's shady.

Surprised that villa didn't go to city too tbh, what with them owning that Melbourne side.

They also own a team in Japan & are buying a side in Portugal (where they can register as many players as they want from anywhere in the world as no work permit required & no player number restrictions either).

City can completely take the piss with ffp about a thousand ways that can't be stopped.

Can't see him getting a game there, he'd be lucky to get on their bench. Guess it's just to keep him in shape.

I don't see how any of those things circumvent the FFP rules.

Money can go through the other clubs without effecting City. New York may well be paying all of Lampard's wages whilst he's a City but it won't go against City's ffp, even though it's all coming from the same source.

Like Mystic said.

New York aren't in ffp (obv), so they can loan players to city on full or almost full wages without city eating into their own budget.

I'd imagine such a crude device as that will be adjusted for in the FFP calculations.

Nobody gives a good fuck about financial fair play.
Barcelona have just spent 100m
Madrid 100m
Paris just paid 50m for David Lulz even after they breached.

Fucking Lionel Hutz could circumvent their rules.

Madrid and Barca weren't in breach. PSG have already been sanctioned.

The only other club sanctioned, City, have been much less extravagant this summer.

The jury's out on whether Uefa follow up on the initial deterrent punishments.

PSG just loaned Aurier with an option to buy to get past FFP.
They cant buy Di Maria until they've sold a few players.

City have spent 12-15 mill so far.

Barca have spent 55 mill net

Real have spent 70 mill net

It won't be long until we see Melboure or New York City buying City players for massively inflated prices to help with FFP. Clubs shouldn't be allowed to own another club. It opens itself up to too many problems.

There's never going to be a scenario whereby Melbourne City buy significant players off Manchester City.

Well, that's my point. It won't be significant players that they're buying. It'll be players coming to the end of their careers or something, and they'll pay way over the odds for them.

Australian teams don't pay for players - they sign out of contract players.

Don't kid yourself that they're suddenly going to find millions of pounds for players.

I've sponsored one of their players in each of the last 2 seasons through my pub.

Their reserve left back 2 seasons ago started the season collecting glasses at my pub.

Also, the A-League has salary caps & such like.

If there is a rort - it won't be so obvious - it'll be done through the "licensing agreement" that Melbourne pay to be part of the City set-up.

It's more likely that Melbourne will be a base for Man City to trawl the Asian market for promising kids & if they're good enough City get first dibs & then get them for free - more like a feeder club.
