Luis Suarez pwned by the Lizards and is Staying, and has said sorry to BR and teammates

For some reason, I think he'll stay too ... IF we finish top 4, he may stay ... I think we'll be fine without him though once Messi signs for that reputed 150 million.

BR has stamped his authority on this long running saga and reigned Suarez in. He let him know that Liverpool are in control and can leave if the required big money bid comes in that matches the club's value of him. What Suarez can't do is dictate his terms to the club. The show of strength from the gaffer and club is over due.

I expect Suarez to remain a Liverpool player for at least another season.

Blind optimism or spidey senses tingling?

I think he will too, because like others on here I suspect there's an agreement in place to let him go after next season, and he'll need to keep his form high to attract the offer he's looking for from Real. It wouldn't actually surprise me if they make a last-minute offer for him in this window, but (a) I suspect it'll fall well short of what we value him at and (b) I'm pleased to say I think we'll tell them to stick it where The Lying Rag don't shine.

It's the latter. Suarez has consistently refused to hand in a transfer request to force a move. I doubt that this is about money at all. We can give him CL football next season if he stays. The type of football we played for the latter half of the season shows that we can compete and win. Our squad is strengthened and will improve further with additional quality first team players coming in. This is not blind optimism but a pragmatic observation and my belief in what BR is doing.

Real may try a last ditch cut price move which they are well known for, but it will be rebuffed.

Luis Suarez could be on the brink of joining Arsenal, with speculation intensifying over the Liverpool striker’s future.

Suarez has made no secret of his desire to quit Anfield this summer and has been linked with a host of clubs including Chelsea, Real Madrid and the Gunners.

But according to South American journalist Martin Charquero, who is believed to be close to the Uruguayan international following a series of interviews, Suarez is on the verge of a dramatic move to the Emirates Stadium.

Charquero tonight posted on Twitter: ‘Luis Suarez is very close to Arsenal’.

Let's see if this story will be the catalyst for a Real move:

After selling Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli for a fee of 37 million euros, Real Madrid are to turn their attentions to Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
The transfer of Higuain is expected this week and Real Madrid will move for Luis Suarez, despite the protestations of Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, according to a report in AS on Tuesday morning.

Suarez joined up with Liverpool in Australia on Sunday and took part in his first training session of the campaign in Melbourne on Monday.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has spoken of his desire to keep Suarez at Anfield but after a turbulent summer, if the right bid comes in for the Uruguayan, he could well depart.

AS suggest that Liverpool were interested in Roberto Soldado, who appears on the verge of a move to Tottenham, as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez.
Real Madrid meanwhile have turned their attentions to Suarez after Zlatan Ibrahimovic confirmed he will be staying at PSG.

Arsenal are heavily linked with Suarez in the English press again today and it looks like a straight battle between the Gunners and Real Madrid for the Liverpool forward.

“@MartinCharquero: Luis Suárez sigue cerca del Arsenal. La novedad es que ayer se resucitó la posibilidad del Real Madrid.”
MartinCharquero: Luis Suarez is near the Arsenal. The novelty is that yesterday raised the possibility of Real Madrid. "

Some real inside info from Twitter again

Hahaha.

A straight battle between arsenal & real?

Hahahaha. Even if adrenal had the budget to outbid real, there's jot a hope in hell suarez would choose London over Madrid.

It would be absolutely mental if he went to Arsenal. Why on earth would he take a sideways step to a club that doesn't ever win anything? I can understand why he'd want to go to Real, but can't see why he'd even consider Arsenal.

He won't be going to arsenal. Im not even worried about that in the slightest. No way would Arsenal meet our valuation.

I don't get the fascination for the majority of players for the Champions League, only a handful of clubs are likely to win the majority are just making up the numbers. In the last 4 years Arsenal have been dire. If you ignore the qualifying rounds they have played in total 34 games
12/13 6 in the group and 2 in the knockout round
11/12 6 in the group and 2 in the knockout round
10/11 6 in the group and 2 in the knockout round
09/10 6 in the group and 4 in the knockout round (they actually won)
By contrast in the last 4 seasons we have played a total of 32 European games again ignoring the qualifying rounds.
12/13 6 in the group and 2 in the knockout round
11/12 None
10/11 6 in the group and 4 in the knockout round
09/10 6 in Champions League Group and 8 in the knockout rounds (beaten Semi Finalist)
So if he goes to Arsenal I suppose he can look forward to at least 6 games

Firstly, I dont think we'll sell to Arsenal. Mainly because it sends out a horrendous message about where we want to go as a club.

Secondly, I dont think Arsenal will pay what we want and they've got a problem with his wages aswell.

although how good would it be if we sold to them , actually used the money wisely and finished above them for the next few seasons.

Yet more "reliable" Arsenal "ITKs" are saying it's 9/10 done.

Arsenal have one of the lowest wages to turnover ratios in the league. His wages aren't a problem for them financially. It might be from a policy perspective, but they can afford almost whoever they want this summer.
