Longest servant?

Now that Gerrard has signed a new contract which probably would mean that he'll end his carreer where he started it: at Liverpool FC.

I can't recall any player that has done that before him?

Perhaps Carragher will end his playing days for us but he has said that he wants to play as long as possible so who knows.

I think there have been others but not for many years. Moran, Byrne and Liddell didn't play for anyone else I don't think.

Roy Evans was a spectator, player, coach and then Manager.

From player to Manager he did a 33 year stint at the club, Gerrard isn't even 33 years old yet!

Bob Paisley made his Liverpool debut as a player in 1946, he made 250 apperances for his one and only League Club and he retired from Playing in 1954.

He went on to at various times since then he had been assistant trainer, chief trainer, then assistant manager before taking over the manager’s chair in 1974, 20 years after retiring as a professional for us, he managed 535 games for us and won:

Honours: First Division champions 1976, 1977, 1979, 1980, 1982, 1983
League cup winners 1981, 1982, 1983
European cup winners 1977, 1978, 1981
UEFA cup winners 1976

He finally retired in 1983 serving for us for a total of 37 years

I used to think Carra was fav for it, until I saw Gerrard asking Kenny could he swap Glenjo from Left to Right and move Kelly into the Center after Enrique came on, that showed a good bit of nous from Stevie

He was playing in the Amature Leagues at the time, Liverpool was his only professional club

Because the Club is the master and everyone works to serve it, NOTHING is bigger than the Club, as everyone has said through the years
