Liverpool could face TWENTY ONE days without football over the coming month – with their fate resting in the hands of Claudio Ranieri and Leicester. With no more cup involvement, the Reds’ fixture list looks barren over the next six weeks, with just five league games scheduled between now and the end of March. There is also set to be a 16-day gap between Saturday’s home clash with Tottenham and trip to Leicester on February 27. But after the Foxes’ progression into the FA Cup fifth round following their replay win over Derby County on Wednesday, there is a possibility the Reds’ visit to the King Power Stadium could be postponed.

According to the Premier League, the game is subject to participation in an FA Cup fifth round replay. Ranieri’s side meet Millwall away on Saturday, February 18, with the Italian expected to make wholesale changes just four days before their Champions League tie with Sevilla. A draw would see the game taken to a replay which will take place on the week commencing February 27. If the game is moved back, could lead to a scenario where the Reds’ next game won’t be until Arsenal on March 4.

With their aforementioned European obligations, Leicester would only be able to play the game on the Saturday or Sunday before – though this appears unlikely. Otherwise, it could be heading for a reschedule in mid-March at the earliest, leaving the three-week gap between Liverpool’s games with Spurs and Arsenal. The FA Cup could yet create more havoc on the fixture list, with Burnley expected to see off Lincoln City at home in the fifth round. If that happens, Liverpool’s home game with the Clarets – set for March 12 – will also have to be moved.

That's kind of a bummer. Just when all the key players returned from their injury issues and are starting to play themselves into form we might have essentially a winter break due to our lack of cup involvement. Should Klopp just give players a holiday? Then come back refreshed and try to go on a big winning run until the end of the season?

anything other than full throttle till the end of the season is unacceptable if we have between two and three weeks between noe and the next match.

take the squad away somewhere hot for a week and then regroup and be fighting fit for Leicester or the gunners

Deffo go for a week hot weather camp... just like winter breaks in rest of Europe...

Regain fitness and team spirit after todays win

Perfect

Deserved break after that.

Regroup now for Leicester who are scrapping for survival...they play 3 games from now until they play us.

The other teams in the league must think we are taking the piss - I mean seriously this is embarrassing to to say the least. We better win every fucking game until the end of the season.

Klopp said our pre season started now, so hopefully we'll use that time well. Travel somewhere for a week.

It's good news, IMO. I don't buy the idea the players were not tired and needed a break. We play such a demanding and intense game that it's bound to take an impact. Even yesterday, although we managed the game better than we have in ages, we were still charging round the pitch like lunatics in the 85th minute. We need the ability to switch it 4231 and move to a possession based game when we're comfortably ahead. I often wish we could have Klopp manage the first half and Benitez the second. We would safe so much energy.

That training camp list in full

The travelling squad in full is: Jordan Henderson, Sheyi Ojo, James Milner, Sadio Mane, Kevin Stewart, Philippe Coutinho, Daniel Sturridge, Joel Matip, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alex Manninger, Adam Lallana, Ragnar Klavan, Divock Origi, Conor Masterson, Simon Mignolet, Georginio Wijnaldum, Alberto Moreno, Nathaniel Clyne, Harry Wilson, Emre Can, Connor Randall, Joe Gomez, Lucas Leiva, Yan Dhanda, Ben Woodburn, Loris Karius, Roberto Firmino.

Lovren, Ings, Bogdan, Ejaria and Grujic have stayed at Melwood to continue rehab after injuries

Camp is a great idea to drill the players and get them ready for the home stretch. We need a long winning streak after our standards have dropped off. Top 4 is a war.
