yeh, just this second looked him up, Seyi Ojo. eng u16 player, only 14 years old.

so we've got Raheem Sterling, Jerome Sinclair, Seyi Ojo and now this Jordan Ibe, all 14-16, all brought in in the last 18 months or so, all english, all very highly rated, and - crucially - all as black as you want.

i really think that's fantastic. great we're finally doing this, and beating other clubs to it - these top youngsters are now obviously seeing us as one of THE clubs to go to, which is most super.

Let's raise our glasses to Rafael Benitez.

hahaha! not sure if you're serious tbh, but obv he deserves a share of the praise, along with comolli and everyone else involved.

i've read a bit about all of them, and you couldn't find 4 more talked about youngsters, and - as i've mentioned before - i actually think the success rate for kids of quite such high repute is pretty high. i don't think it'd be hysterically optimistic to expect 2 of them to go on and be proper stars for us, and then there's alex o'hanlon and andre wisdom (i include him since he's a centre half, so would naturally tend to come into first team reckoning around the same time as the other 5) who are also both talked about in similar terms.

i'll go out on a completely random limb and say 3 of the 6 will be proper first team players for us.

Yeah wait till the little fucks discover booze and skanky women - then we'll know whether they'll make it.

when we win the CL in 2016 let's invite rafa into the dressing room as it will be his team that won it

I know someone at work who follows Wycome, says this guy is very fast and very well built for his ages.
I'll go further and say that in 5 years we will have the top 3 ballon d'or on the books.

Maybe he is another Yakubu type of age person

yeah, he looks much better developed than your typical 15 year old, and obviously that's not always gonna be such an advantage as he plays with more senior players. having said that, to score that goal in League 1 against seasoned pros at 15 is just incredibly impressive. one of our other prodigies i mentioned, Jerome Sinclair, looks to be another cut from the same cloth: i think he's 14 or 15. i came across some good pictures of him and Ojo playing for England U16s:

If we get Mason Bennett then we'll have signed up every highly-rated English player around that age level.

Im fucking LOVING this. Liverpool will rule the world Barca style.
Imagine 10 years ago when Iniesta, Busquets, Messi, Pique etc were all being signed up by Barca youth teams......

Re: Liverpool win race to sign Wycombe teen star

If I may, I'd just like to say this, sure we're getting the cream of the crop regarding english talent.

The fundamental problem we have is that theyre still british and I'm unconvinced we'll make them beastier
Mate the 5 best english players 10 years ago (aged 15ish) would be Walcott, Young, Lennon etc dont tell me we couldnt do with them right now.

1) i know someone who knows someone....who knows *insert player's name*

2) i know someone who works at somewhere who saw *insert player's name*

3) i know someone who knows someone who has insider knowledge and heard some rumours bout *insert player's name*

and of course the classic...looney tune...

4) i know *insert player's name*

i think if you get them young enough (i'd say 14/15 probably qualifies?) then you can coach them to be fairly technical, given our coaching set-up. plus there are plenty of decent technical british players coming through nowadays: wilshere, bale, chamberlain, mceachran, sturridge.

plus we are and english team, playing in the english league!

Re: Liverpool win race to sign Wycombe teen star

Walcott and lennon we would have sold by now for a wedge because they were jarg for a few years when they made the first team

For every walcott theres a jeffers, s'all I'm saying

I'm happy to take a punt on them becoming beast, but I won't hold my breath

Re: Liverpool win race to sign Wycombe teen star

I just don't have enough faith in our ability to develop players anymore

Theyre black.
We gotta get some more black guys in this team.
Wisdom
Ojo
Sterling
Ibe
Sinclair

would be approaching an acceptable volume, i reckon. plus David Moli is another of a similar age, also highly rated.

we'd still need a few more to pass the black qouta but we're heading in the right direction

i remember when i was at uni, arsenal had a good 8 or 9 black players in their side. i remember saying to my housemates that if it got any worse they might all be black! it could've happened.

was that the untouchables, unbreakables, inconceivables? the team that went the whole season unbeaten?

GARY Waddock has reiterated that wonderkid Jordon Ibe is still a Wycombe Wanderers players despite reports linking him to a Premiership move.

Liverpool are reportedly set to land the 16-year-old striker in the summer in a deal that could land Blues £500,000 - one of the highest fees ever received for one of their players.

Goalkeeper Nikki Bull tweeted this week it is "only a matter of time" before a top club makes a move for the teenager but Waddock was tight lipped on his future.

He said: "As far as I know he's a Wycombe player. I'm pleased he's a Wycombe player at the moment and he's playing for us. We'll sit down and talk to him when we need to.

"There's rumour and speculation about Jordon but I won't pass any comment until if or when he goes, or when he stays here.
