This has been absolutely fantastic. I'm pretty impressed with how Rodgers has steadied the ship and turned it around.

I also think we are insane if we don't buy a striker.
Yep. A good striker now will almost certainly mean a top four finish and CL football.

They're showing a replay of the goals.

Coutinho's pass for the first goal gets better everytime you see it.

Sturridge's first touch for his goal was pure excellence.

2 great Coutinho assists - the man is in great form at the moment.
Great goal from Sturridge, also a very composed finish from Raheem.
Defence did very well against a physical attack and Can after some nervy moments at the start was back to his usual reliable self with the ball.
I think Skrtel loves a back 3 as he has no responsibility to man mark a striker and can just concentrate on sweeping and winning headers.
Mignolet came for some corners!

Woop.

Considering that 3 players had a bit of a stinker ( Lallana Marko and Moreno ) that was as comfortable a victory as I can remember. Thanks Studge for showing us what a clinical striker looks like

It was amazing the transformation with him as the focal point.

Sterlings haircut has been the turning point in our season

Funny you say that, he's really buckled down since then.

It seemed like the (finishing) horror show at Old Trafford has got him focused on his football again. Before that, he looked like he was being influenced by Balotelli with the hairstyles.

Sturridge's goal ust makes you think how much we've been missing him. So many chances we've wasted this season just because we missed our top striker.

Very much so, but also more generally it shows how badly we've needed a proper striker up there to be the focal point of things. I'm still going to be very disappointed if we don't sign one in this window.

No matter how well Sterling plays, he's just not a natural finisher.

Natural goalscorers like Sturridge have been doing it since they were 10 years old.. since little league football.

The likes of Raheem and Coutinho were the kids that were dribbling, fancy dan, ball hoggers.

It's great to have a finisher back. We still need one more though.

Couldn't agree more, Sturridge finish was lovely, hard and low from a tight angle.

I'm appalled that none of the camera angles managed to catch if Henderson was gamboling when we scored both goals, especially the Sturridge one. Defence was sound today, except for a few self-inflicted scares when we passed it around too casually at the back inviting pressure, and some moments earlier in the first half when Carroll and Valencia took turns targeting Can. Mignolet looks a different player... hope that form continues for the rest of the season.

Anyone notice when Can and Skrtel switched positions in the second half? Was it after Carroll went off or after Markovic was withdrawn? Thought that was an interesting switch.
