Isn't this just a case of getting blinded by science, I can't see anything new in the tactics used. It used to be called staying tight and crowding the space around the ball and shuffling across when the ball moves to another area of the pitch.
In the picture were the players are all in the middle and are forcing spurs to go round them,, . This would be when spurs have the ball in the middle of the pitch, if they had it wide right, then we would be over there as a unit and visa versa on the left. Nothing new teams have been doing it for ever
