0-0 could be more advantageous than, say, a 3-2 win if we were to concede a goal in Rome.

If we are gonna look for a 0-0 away from home is easier especially with our countering ability.

Having a lead will mean they need to attack.

0-0 would be a horrible result for the home leg for me.

Obviously a big win would be better but any win is better than 0-0.

You’re stating the obvious. It would be better to win both legs. Of course.
But the importance in keeping a clean sheet can’t be understated, which was the original point before you ‘rubished’ it.

The importance of an away goal is a mathematical variable, which means his brain would need to perform simultaneous calculations over all of the possible permutations in order to assign an aggregate value to it. Not with ten thousand brain cells could he do such a thing, it is folly.

Boy am I shifting it

Been asked to pitch for a 5k investment which runs into the 1st half of next week. Needs to be a 4-0 jobby so I'm less anxious about missing 30 mins next week...

My nerves are also building... and for some bizarre reason I got fuck all sleep last night... and the game will be on at 2 am... uggh...

Any strange dreams Tom?

He didn't rubbish it, he pooh-poohed it.

Perhaps @King Binny can provide some statistical clarity, but as far as I remember, a 3:2 home win is still better than a 0:0 draw.

How can 0-0 be more advantageous than 3-2?

If Roma score one in Rome...
In the first scenario, we'd have to score one.
In the second, we still need to score one.

And if Roma score four,
Then in the first scenario we'd need to score four,
In the second we would only need to score three.

0-0 is worse in some situations and better in none.

It's better than losing.

You are failing to probability adjust your scenarios. If you risk 3-2, the other results around that possibility like 3-3 or 2-2 are much worse than 0-0. It's better to take such risks when the reward of an away goal is in your favour or else if Lovren has already put us 1-0 down after 10 minutes.

Thats my clubs in order of love.
I obviously hope we beat Roma, but if we dont I will be a proper fan hoping they win the Cup.

You didn't have it like I did in 2005 & 2007 ... I lived in Milan, was always a big Milan fan (my bro went to school with Massaro's daughter) but Liverpool was always my first love ... so I was ecstatic in 2005, and devastated when those cunts (for that game!) beat us in 2007!

Why did you like Rangers?

Didn't Oncy once live in Belfast? Maybe he's a secret UVF man

Concede and we will probably go out. If tonight the crowd do their part then maybe we can do what we did to Porto at their place. Just need the conditions and chances to be taken. There is a much higher chance of us conceding than getting a convincing win.

van Dyke will open the scoring on 5 minutes, Firmino makes it 2 just before half time; a second half perfect hat trick for Salah puts the tie to bed. Mane MOM with 5 assists.

You heard it here first

Ok if we are all using imagination and expressing our wet dreams then this is MORONs dream :

1) Roma cant handle the noise...players cannot pass properly.
2) Ox takes a loose ball and runs at the heart of the Roma's defence and BOOM BOOM .. he scores from long range.

3) Salah, Mane, Firminio score in that order giving rise to that song because the do it in the right order. 4-0 half time.

4) Roma desperately need to score .... loose ball...VvD brings ball out dodging players in our area. Passes to Milner who then passes to Mane on the edge of the Roma penalty area ...he stands imposing doing that thing with his leg slightly edging forward...meanwhile Robertson is running in behind ...Mane sees him and lays the ball into his path and then BOOM !!!! he scores Carlos Alberto 1970 style Brazil. Its 5-0.

5) Roma desperate now ...pouring forward...Henderson puts a ball over the top ... Salah outruns defender and finds himself 1 on one with keeper and lobs ball into net ... its 6-0.

6) Roma want this nightmare to end ... falling over the place. Their final dream is shattered..give a silly free kick away around their penalty area. TAA steps up as its in his range....long run up...BOOM !!!! 7-0....crowd errupts with noise not heard since CL home semi 2005.

7) Ref blows whistle on 93rd minute to end game and Roma's misery.

This will be tough. They work hard and press hard. We really need the ball to move fast tonight. I'll take 1-0 But hope for 2-0. But whatever happens this tie aint over tonight.

No the original point was that a clean sheet is most important.

It's not. Winning the game is.
