Very solid half. Firmiono is really starting to ooze class. We have looked vulnerable on the break a couple of times with Rooney and Martial, but have had this under control for most of that half. We need to turn one of these half chances into a goal.

Lucas has had a decent half. Disrupted their midfield entirely. Henderson has also been free to make runs ahead of the ball.

The concern is that when we tire we have no lead to protect.

How have we managed to spend so much money on a team that can't score goals...

Some good intricate play but, as said, no one is getting beyond them, if we had a Sturridge here we'd be a real threat to this United side. As it is, we're kind of hoping for a bit of luck. Can is having one of those games where he's paying like he's asleep, Sakho has been very good. Firmino has shown some moments of real class but also looks typically lightweight at times too. Lallana just seems to be making up the numbers, some nice touches and layoffs, but with no pace between the three front men, one of them has to be sacrificed here for Ibe, maybe.

That's your bias talking, Lucas has had a very good first half.

Lucas has been excellent. That early pass was an absolute stunner. He's been bossing things otherwise.

Lallana has been Lallana (not good enough but always 'nearly scores').
Milner has been good so extremely effective, but not at his best.
Henderson has been off his game.
Can has been good but again not at his best.
Lucas has been very good, mopping up, getting stuck in early on & even providing some good passing range for a change.
Moreno has hit a couple of decent crosses which is nice, but has been caught out a few times.
Clyne unfortunately hasn't been able to get up the pitch as much as I'd like, but has defended quite well.
Kolo did well, much better than I thought he would.
Sakho much better than midweek, looks a lot more assured.
Mignolet, not much to do, but came out & caught the ball well once.

Agree with most of that but Clyne has been good going forward.
He's proved a good outlet down the right side which is where we are getting the most joy from.

I reckon we'd be at least 2 up with Sturridge in the side.
