Fair play
High praise, bordering on too high...
I really felt sorry for the bloke in that moment, it was a look of hopelessness, given that they have been playing really well - watched a few of their games this season - they can pass it around a bit, so was very surprised how we just controlled that entire game.Hah, Chris wilder doing the crouching facepalm, wondering what the fuck you're meant to do.
I think we'll tire again and sheffield could hardly do anything but see more of the ball. When this dominant, we should do a little more. Firmino most to blame. He'll have another 20 mins in this one to make amends, you'd think.
Front 3 looked disjointed. Not sure why. We used to have them interchanging passes and tear defences apart. Now all of them needs Trent or Robertson to do the work for them.
Up against a well drilled back 5. Very little space for him and his oases.
Wow good save. All from Milner being way way too casual in the middle of the park. He needs to stop Looking for a foul From every challenge
How different can it look in CB and midfield?
This season is just insane, I almost feel like I need to see us lose to make it real or something, but it just doesn't look like it'll happen. We could actually have this done before we play City in April.
Nah, we will need about the same amount of points as we collected last season if not more.
VVD and Gomez both put in another great display.
Hendo is playing like a man possessed at the moment. Milner and Gini both bring a lot to the table but Hendo is completely dominating.
Thought that despite the goals, the front three were crap. Firmino in particular.
Mane started the season on fire but recently form has dipped. Salah has been good in bursts and Firmino has had the odd spell. All in all however, the front three as a unit haven't looked great very often this season.
It'll be interesting to see how Klopp uses Minamino and whether he'll be trusted to shoulder some of the burden.

Yeah because City are getting 97/98 ? Haha oh dear.Nah, we will need about the same amount of points as we collected last season if not more.
I think he most certainly DID plan it this way and TAA's after match comments confirmed it. I thought we were just trying to conserve energy in a period where we have played a match every 3 days or so and with Everton in the FAC just 2 days away. Was going to post about this. This was a "peak Guardiola" kind of performance – death by a thousand passes. Don't think Klopp necessarily planned it this way – it's just Sheffield's shape and style of play was conductive to this type of football. What's impressive is that this team can adapt to almost any situation and execute different styles of play successfully.
Until they all drop down injured then ? FFS.Could argue keep.playing them. Momentum

TAA : "It was something we spoke about - controlling the game more and not being so hectic. We were too open to try and get more goals. We want to keep the ball and tire the opposition out.
EDIT : So I'm only the 4 or 5 pages behind everyone else then *slaps forehead
Dont want to read too much into that, but i am hoping this was a thing we used against this team because the situation and circumstances required us to play that style. Otherwise, also reading the TAA interview - it all sounds like we evolving into Pep type team. I hate to think all the excitement we have had with Klopp over the seasons was to finally lead us to be a Pep type team, if so why not play that and adapt to such a style like 2 seasons ago, am sure we had enough talent to do that.Klopp confirmed it too. He said immediately after the game when the interviewer suggested Liverpool "passed them to death", "Yes, that was the idea actually".
Link?trent had an INSANE pass yesterday - thrown in near our corner flag, and he got the ball back from gini, and he swerved it around the central defense on the ground to Robbo. I have watched it 10 times and I don't know how he did it with such ease and almost nonchalantly.
