Mates just text me to say the Everton fans have a big juventus flag.

Fuck me, they just can't help themselves be cunts.

team has fought well - they really should be down, but have held their own nonetheless.
Hope Milner injury isn't serious -
Williams is playing solid footy - is that the reason Hoever not playing?
Pedro isn't good enough - too weak, but you can see why he'll have a solid career in Holland or even Spain.
Minamino looks quality.

Yes, first start with no real DM in front of him, only Gomez as an experienced player, against a full strength premier league team.
He should be playing like Van Dijk!
YOu are amazing.

He's 22. Older than Joe.

You get taught the basics of being a CB when you're 7-8.

Positionally he's all over the shop.

Getting tight too late, not getting tight early enough.....awful

Williams is 18, and he hasn't been beat once because he knows his position.

All very Aston Villa-ish in the naivete. If we can get the first goal, who knows, but if they get it, shit. Williams isn't like this for the ressies - he normally passes well enough; here he's incapable of passing to feet, he looks up, punts it, the ball comes back. He really, really, needs talking to at half time.Keep possession. We need a couple more senior players out there.

he’s got Italy written all over him for me

Impressed with Chirivella. Looks calm in all situations, lovely passing accuracy.

Jones looks too good for the youth team as usual.

Elliot won’t make it as a wide player if he doesn’t work on his right foot. Too one dimensional if he can’t make runs like Salah. Doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be great centrally.

Our right back is pissing me off with all those hopeful long balls to nowhere.

Philips does not look impressive.

Gomez doesn’t seem to be a leader of the back line.

Minamino currently not on the same wavelength with our fringe players unfortunately.

Glad for the youngsters that we’re still in it but if our defense isn’t sorted it’s a matter of time before they score.

I haven't followed the match thread but I really hope there's been praise regarding Neco because he's been immense.
Seriously, even bailed out Philips a few times. Also Philips has been average and that's me being nice. Looks completely lost at times. Gifting Calvert Lewin and Richarlison chances.
Finally Adrian has kept us in the game, great reaction saves.

Very lucky so far
I beg to differ, the opponent we played against didn't turn up in the first half. It has nothing to do with luck when goal opportunities are being blocked/stopped/saved by the keeper. It is only luck if they kept hitting the damn post or bar. Everton should win this easily, they fielded their best players on the pitch today and they could not even control the game.

I am not too fond of Chirivella to be honest. Playing midfield he is not allowed to doze off and ball watching, and he's been guilty of it a few times. He's not young anymore, at 22, and been around the club awhile he should not be looking lost. Origi needs to step up more, either Klopp plays him in the middle, or he needs to show more of himself for his teammates to find him. When he gets the ball, Everton players seemed worried and retreated, that's what we want. Elliot had a pretty decent start of the half but tailed off at the later stage. Minamino still finding his feet against an English side.

We should not ben testing these fuckers by stroking the ball at our own final 3rd. Lallana needs to take charge more as a captain and I want to see our players in the middle of the park being more alert to win the second ball higher up the pitch.

No shame in losing this one, and don't see us winning it either.

Made up for the lads out there in terms of work rate, they've been phenomenonal.

Unfortunately the defence is playing like what it is, an inexperienced defence that's never played together before & we've no real forward threat cos minamino is further back & Origi is on the wing.

If Ancelloti can, he'll switch something up tactically & exploit our lack of any central midfield second half & it'll play out very differently.

Chiravella, Lallana, Gomez and, contrary to some, Williams have all looked really good to me. However we have no forward threat, Origi needs to be centre.
