Toronto’s Reds will host the Reds.
Toronto FC will play Liverpool F.C. at Rogers Centre on July 21, a source confirmed for the Toronto Star on Wednesday.
The 18-time English Premier League champions will face TFC in a match of the World Football Challenge, an annual exhibition tournament held in North America. Real Madrid won last year’s event, with Manchester United the runner-up.
Tickets for the game will go on sale soon, with TFC season-seat holders and supporters being offered them at a special, discounted price.
The game, which is being organized by the Rogers Centre, not TFC, will no doubt have huge appeal to Toronto’s large Liverpool supporter network.
Liverpool, who features the likes of Englishman Steven Gerrard and Uruguay’s Luis Suarez, are one of Europe’s most storied clubs.
Though it hasn’t been confirmed that the match will be played on natural grass, that has been the precedent for the visits of large international clubs.
Real grass was brought in for a July 2010 match between Manchester United and Scotland’s Celtic and is often a requirement to bring such clubs here.

Don't like the rumoured ticket prices too much...
