that is true, ideally we'd have a "Mane" who could share that burden with him.I see it more like having a team that doesn't require us being carried by Salah is essential. We hopefully win the league because for a large part he carried us
Should have signed Kvara though. Really missed a trick there.
Oh, but how we all wish that there was...It was more of an indirect post towards Froggy and Stevie who have long held the belief that the squad was all happily and merrily set, but I do find it hysterical how now the problems in the squad are magnified, a few more are finding the balls to pipe up.
FSG, Edwards and Hughes are all cunts.....there isn't a limit to how many times this can be emphasized.
Take it up with the free speech union.Oh, but how we all wish that there was...![]()
They play almost every game right now because we don't have alternatives. I think if Slot had options and they weren't in this area of renewing/not renewing then he wouldn't have an issue playing others. If they get, say, new 2 year deals there is no way that by the end of those two years they're still playing every single game at their age.
The reverse of that is that the more people repeat stupid things they more they are considered stupid.Oh, but how we all wish that there was...![]()
Or... Or... Maybe you might consider not repeating your nonsense over and over and over and over, again and again and again and again, every single flippin' day? No chance of that happening, I suppose?Take it up with the free speech union.
I'd say Virgil is the most essential of them to resign. Feels weird to say that given the season Salah is having, but we really need to keep Virgil.
Re-sign! Or resign. Got me confused there 😆
I mean there are certainly people who can play in those two positions (maybe not someone who's preferred position is LCB) but the alternatives aren't thought highly of by Slot.Sorry l, I hear you, but I don’t think it’s a case of Virg & Mo playing every game because there are no alternatives - there are alternatives - Slot barely even subs Mo and Klopp was the same, regardless of how he’s playing.
Chiesa was is the obvious option who could have been getting 10-15 mins more frequently. Harvey has been deployed in MO’s position too - maybe not ideal, but can play there.
Mo is so competitive he’d be furious if he was benched when fit - we saw how he takes that last season - and there’s no reason to while he’s banging in goals.
With CBs - you really want to keep the same pair together as much as possible, so unless we’re appointing another captain, Virg is playing practically every game.
As Momo said - no top player is coming to sit on the bench, play a few domestic cup games and CL dead rubbers and cross their fingers for 5 mins here and there in the league.
No issue with keeping Mo, but the only sort of backup that would work would be Doak - and even then he probably needs more minutes to develop than we’ll give him.
Maybe some on here should take a leaf out of your book and actually enjoy this.Next season will clearly be a transitionary season, much like this season was always going to be transitionary. I don't know about you, but I am quite enjoying this season
Maybe we shoudl be transitionary every year

I agree that neither Virgil nor Mo would want to be rotated, and given they haven't signed a new contract yet they're probably being kept happy also. But the wise move would be to have people in situ for when the decline happens, because it's not going to happen at a time that's suitable for us. I would rather, as I'm sure we all would, have someone ready to take over when the dip starts to happen. When that is, I dunno - but if there are players we identify as successors we should absolutely be moving for them now; after all we've done that for the GK position, despite Allison being arguably as good as he's ever been. Mamardarshvilli or however you spell it will be coming with the intention of taking over as first choice, despite knowing Allison is his competition. I don't see why we couldn't sign players who feel they can take over from Van Dijk or Salah.
I think the keeper position is a little different - but I wouldn’t rule out Alisson being allowed to leave (not saying I’m in favour).
Also, I think you hit on one of the problems - if we go for a player that’s capable in multiple roles, is he really a specialist on the right to replace Mo - and if he spends most of his time playing in other positions, is that really good preparation.
The other option is - do we get Mo to change his role - move him into the middle and introduce someone else on the right? (again, not something I’m necessarily in favour of).
Regarding keeper, it's a shame the Georgian has been poor this season.
Otherwise I'd have considered flipping him for a profit and convincing Kelleher that he'll continue to get matches due to Ali's injuries and will win a domestic cup or two every season.
If we are serious about Isak you have to wonder if we can accommodate both him and Salah, or if the idea is to build the attack with two different types of wingers.
I don’t watch La Liga - has he been poor, or has he been playing in a shit team and overworked?
city bound?Right back is a no-brainer. Aina is available on a freebie; he’s 28, very good, started every game this season (reliable), very good disciplinary record and likes to get forward.
He will offer Bradley serious competition and will be reliable as a regular starter if Bradley injury problems persist.
