Mbeumo money Mbeumo problems

So we shouldn't sign 18 and 19 year olds for the 1st team because we can't develop players? Hato can play both CB and LB like you point out. We are a club with limited funds and it MAY be we only get one transfer in the summer (if Trent, Salah and VVD decide to stay), and I would rather that be a player who can play more than one position at the back.
We could develop but we won't as the pressure is ramped up. Ideally it would be buy hato, loan him out for a season to an ok pl side and then progress from there.

We're not in a luxury position at LB, so the next signing needs to be able to be dropped in

…and about 3-4 times the price…there’s no value in Mbeumo for me…
3 to 4 times the price? Nah. Last summer L'Equippe suggested Brentford would demand about £50m. He's now in the last 18 months of his contract. I think around 50 gets him.

Yeah, fair enough..but I imagine there might be a bit of a bunfight for him too that’d see Brentford hold out for 60m or so.

So, more like 2.5 to 3 times would have been more accurate.

Without having an argument (I don't think 60 is an outlandish figure) there's no way Wissa goes for 22, so it may be about twice the amount.

If we were in for Mbuemo at 55-60 I think he'd be value at that. He's perhaps the Salah understudy we need.

Just saying - Mbuemo has been outperforming his xG a fair bit though.

Short-termism worked quite well for Nottingham Forest in the case of Chris Wood too.

Isn't Cherki the definition of an opportunistic signing?

Got the talent to be world class, just needs the right (motivating environment). Learning professionalism from Mo and VVD, and the guy could be a star for us. Either on the right or behind the striker.

Genuinely has world class talent. If you put in him in a Man United, he fails spectacularly, because he wouldn't have the right personalities around him. But at Liverpool? It could work. A baller, in the same sense Ryan was at Bayern.

That's my logic. Just depends if he'd want to come to us

He looks like a fat kebab eater

I see that, but even discounting this season, teams were looking at him last season as he has that something about him that makes you get off your seat every game. He is averaging a little under a goal/ assist every 2 games for his career, and he's doing it at Brentford. I really like him even if he is outperforming his XG.

If Kerkez is the only LB on the list, why? £50m is huge chunk of cash for a LB with only 2 goals and 3 assists... I am not against his signing but I despise the stance its him or nothing.
Most of us have PTSD from falling short due to lack of depth in key areas.
And you know this how? Oh you don't! But let's throw a hissy fit anyway eh. FFS.

I have PTSD listening to you and Big Gnome.

Jonathan Davids, Canadian International. Well, looks like he isn't going to be on our list. Bitter twat!!!!
"I like teams. I'm just not a big fan of Liverpool."

David added: "I don’t know. I don’t really like them. No [it isn't because of Jurgen Klopp], because I think he is world class. The Liverpool team with Gerrard, Sterling, Sturridge, Suárez... I liked them. But now..."

I just heard someone on a podcast saying we should go for him. He can get fucked.

He’s just a plastic American anyway.

Not only can he fuck off, but he can take Celene Dion, Bryan Adams, Justin Beiber, Alanis Morisette, Michael Buble and Terrence & Philip with him.

has it been accepted?

its only nothing if we've got it.

He's 28 and having his best goal scoring season. Forest doing it as a short term improvement to depth makes sense., We don't do short term, otherwise we'd be trying to get better players in
The ultimate short term thinking allowance is to win the title.
