It's not just corporate boxes, but the conference facilites & events that the club make money on 5days a week. It's the majority of income for Emirates & OT despite the ticket prices & huge capacities.

The stadiums are empty 90% of the time, by utilising that space at that time you make money do thaat you need more space & better facilities, created with conferencing & events in mind.
that's interesting and surprising. have you got a breakdown of their revenues?
It doesn't look to be correct. Note 3 to the accounts:

Fucking hell, it certainly isnt correct, not by a long way!

thanks.

the worrying thing about that is arsenal have turned over £235m in past 2 years from 'Property development'. i wonder if that's all related to the redevelopment of Highbury to offset cost of the the Emirates, because we haven't got any way of reproducing that sort of contribution.
Yep the highbury apartments cleared a shit load of there stadium debt.

Has Rebel still not appeared in this thread.

Brendan any chance of giving your mate a shout?
The cunt only turns up when it suits his fucking agenda....... Don't encourage him!
Oh come on, Brendan's not THAT bad.

Fuck me, can you imagine 'apartments' where Anfield stands now?!

Bedsits perhaps!

And before anyone gets offended I lived in Rockfield Road for about a year so I'm allowed to slag the area off!

I curled a massive Mr Whippy out in a derelict house in Rockfield Road when I was 14. Couldn't wait I'm afraid. I had a scally head, blue Adidas New York trackie top, electric blue Kappa silk trackie bottoms and Adidas Grand Prix trabbs. Fucking class I was.

What the fuck is Rossdoh quacking on about?

Have you downloaded some special mong files lately?
Fucking hell, you are acting like a fucking prick Brendan. I know I've had a menstrual bitch about you in the past, but for fucks sake you are possibly the most negative person I have ever known. I fucking hope that this is a persona, but on a day like today it seems like a complex.

You've been fucking silent for three days (as far as I can tell) which was possibly the most emotive time for a Liverpool fan and then come waving your fucking cock about trying to show how big you are. Give it a fucking rest. Things aren't perfect, they weren't yesterday, and they won't be tomorrow.

Stop acting like a fucking spoilt child, I'd have my son on the fucking 'time out step' if he acted like you. You were wrong about certain things - so what? - grow a set and act like a father.

Edit: Hurrah, I'm such a child! My post count is finally my birth year, aces! Goodnight gayers!

maybe it's time to start gentrifying anfield to push property prices up - get the 'poofs and their poodles' moving in, as my old economics teacher used to say. it might take a while, of course.

would people have problem with using hicks' designs for the new stadium?
The design Hicks commissioned? No not me, I thought they were great at the time and still do, but the first ones not the slimmed down version.

I think we would be very foolish to dismiss the idea of a new stadium , fine lets put it on ice for a while while we get settled.

I think it will get built.

Humerous?

Is that a fucking joke about leg bones?

Knock yourself out in the response, it's bound to be *hilarious*

The humerus is the upper arm bone by the by.

*ponders the gravity of spelling error against anatomical ignorance*

If and when the team stop performing like little girls, then yes, I think we will.
yes. arsenal do, we can too. we're fucking Liverpool FC and don't you forget it.

I thought I'd revel seeing Hicks in the state he's in in that video a few pages back. He's on the verge of tears. The truth is I had to switch it off, it made me uncomfortable. I almost pitied him. Almost. I don't really know why.

Because you are an empathetic person. I'm sure this has been devastating to him, it's a massive public failure. It isn't a tragedy though, it's someone becoming slightly less filthy rich due to their own greed and incompetence. Watch the video of him waving wads of cash he kept in his pocket as a prop. You'll feel better.

True. I know this won't end his life or anything, he'll still be a rich man after this, I just felt really uncomfortable watching a grown man's lips quivering. I doubt highly he felt any empathy or sympathy for any of us when our club was being ran into the ground, and like you said, he's clearly greedy, incompetant and arrogant. He deserves everything he gets, or doesn't get as the case may be.

I'm just really disappointed in myself that I can't seem to let out a huge Nelson from The Simpsons point and laugh at Hicks during that interview. Maybe tomorrow.

These guys also go from being bullies to victims real quick. I've been around enough of these characters to completely doubt the sincerity/ this was a fella who was willing to saddle us with even more interest payments so he could "maybe" cash in down the road and put us into recievership....

Save your empathy for someone who isn't so willing to shaft people himself.

Yup when the common enemy is gone, we have no one to turn against but each other. Nice. As usual.
No, it would save us a lot of money and time using the same plans, but from what they've said so far the owners will want to spend the next 6 months weighing up all the options before deciding.

They plans cost us £30M, so if a new stadium is the desired option, I think it would be prudent to use them.
Please tell me how can a design ever cost 30 million without a spade work being done? Now that is a swindle of EPIC proportion.

Who the fuck was interviewing him? Ssn themselves? What's with them going for thw sympathy angle?

Fuck the cunt.
It's not a sympathy angle, it's the fact that journalists and news have forgotten what it is they are supposed to do, so they trade sympathetic interviews and their journalistic charge for the sake of access.

We're not going to see Abramovich types spending 200M on players at some random club for much longer I don't think. If the first round of rules don't kill it in 2012, it'll happen soon after. And when that happens, us having a new stadium will be important.

As for mid-table comments, I don't recall anyone really looking at AC Milan that much differently when they got relegated and spent a couple seasons out of the CL. They're one of Europe's elite and we all knew they'd be back. It's the same with us (I hope).
