L.F.C. Liverpool Fans Cooperative. Suggestions Thread

As I alluded earlier and Kenni said much better than me, what's the point at the moment. People wanted them out, they are going, and they will sell for the first half decent offer that comes along. We just need to have a bit of patience and keep our fingers crossed the right owner comes along.

Comparing our situation to Newcastle and Mike Ashley is stretching it a bit.

As Ross said we are getting enough insight into the debt issue rammed down our throat by every fucking sports finance expert and fleet street hack around, we hardly need a site to publicise it.

Rest assured if it amounts to anything SoS will latch on to it, in some guise or other.

regards

At the moment the Collective Idea is merely being considered and suggested for some time in the future. Now we're just gauging people's reaction to the idea so all your input is most welcome. However, more immediately as somewhat of a test to see if the collective idea is workable, we're trying to garner support for a one-off cross-site event which will be no more than a outward show of solidarity between sites and associations to really outline the fact that we are all reading off the same page when it comes to removing the current owners and replacing them with suitable custodians.

Worded like that I would say yes.

When we have done that , can we do the same for the Manager? 😉

As I said I would be inclined to see what happens over the next couple of months as regards the sale. What more can you do, that they don't already want themselves?
You/we want them to sell, they want to sell. You don't believe all this guff and hot air about Hicks expectations as regards value do you?
I like the sound of this more than SoS, and it's very noble, but I believe things will work without it.

Maybe things will and maybe things won't work without it. Lets just see where it takes us in any event. As I say, at the moment this is not about joining an organisation but rather seeing if we can bring everyone together in a show of solidarity. Anyway I hope people have a think about it and post their opinions.

Hi everyone, it's kinda my fault this thread got started in the first place. I asked Iain if he'd reach out to you over here about an idea I've been thinking about over at scouser-tommy.

As I'm sure all fans have, we've been considering what we can do about the dire straights the club finds itself in.

Very quickly we came to the realisation that consensus was very dificult to come by, particularly on the footy side of things. Half of us are completely sick of talkin about footy this season as it's been so divisive.

But if you trawl around the other sites as well as this one, as many of us do, you'll find that the overwhelmingly shared idea is of course about ownership and the level of debt put on the club.

While we have members who in some respects agree with Vlad, i.e. the club is up for sale, why not leave well alone, I guess I became just a bit more obsessed with the idea of having a moment of unity between all our sites, even if just for an hour, and the only issue we all agree upon, is that the owners have to go, and that the debt situation at the club has become both unacceptable and financially perilous.

That being the case we basically came up with two ideas.

One was a fan's collective, everyone wants to talk coallition since the UK got ConDem'd last week, and while it might be a noble idea, I think at this moment of uncertainty and instability, it'd be almost impossible to satisfy all parties in all aspects of the club. Each site has their defenders of Benitez, those who think Lucas is gash, Dirk tries really hard but he's shite, get Mourinho, buy a left back. We could go round in circles.

The second idea was that at a specified time, and for a specified period, we'd like to see if we could get as many sites as possible to host two exact same web pages.

One would be replace your home page, and would be a very simple slogan with a picture, surrounded by all the logos of all the sites who decided they could stand alongside it.

Along the lines of " Bleeding(reading) from the same page" and a pic of the life blood being drained from the liverbird, and filling up or forming the word DEBT below it.

This would click through to the second page on each of our sites, with a more detailed analysis of the debt problem. Copy to be agreed by every site that decides they want to take part.

At the point we went live we would then attempt to facebook and tweet the hell out of it, and of course we have a number of people who write for Click/ Well red etc who'd attempt to give it coverage.

Anyway, back to the point. And as Vlad says, what is the point.

Do any of you follow the LFC facebook page? The comments the stories get from fans all around the world are quite something. They bring plenty of revenue into the club, and they have no idea about the issues.

You see what's happened to Portsmouth, the barcodes, dirty leeds united down the years, and we're at a point where there is a legitamite concern that we could go the same way, if no buyer is found. The club is hemorrhaging money.

For me though, cause I'm a soft shite, the biggest point of all is that even if it was just for one day, every LFC fan site, even some of the AIB's could end up reading the same message, on the same pages, across the world.

A moment of unity, clarity of conviction in regards to one key issue.

Maybe the americans are desperate to sell, maybe not. Maybe Broughton is a good guy, maybe not.

But whatever they are, they can be very well informed that we will not be fooled again, become passive at the first signs of possible victory, and for a moment all our communities could stand together, on one issue, with one voice.

Anyway, I've only just finished work and I'm clearly getting too emotional lol. I'm not trying to give you a sermon here, I'm just looking to see if we can have a one off act of unity, on the only issue we caould probably find agreement on.

Your thoughts and input are appreciated. There's athread over at RAWK I've been posting in too, if you find your way over there.

I'll be around if any of you have thoughts or questions, or just want to tell me to do one, but I'm away with work, so you can always get through to me via jazzmaster.

Sorry for the Tomkinsesque length of my first 6CM post. I'll attempt to be a bit more Ian Cotton from now on.

Thanks.

I read every bit of your post but every bit before or after "jazzmaster" just pales in comparison to anything you wrote. Sorry, im being a cunt but ive had a bottle or two of santa rita.

oh and btw, the people at the top i.e purslow etc dont give a flying fuck what me, you or any mentalist does or says on rawk. It has absolutley no bearing on their decisions and never will.

If there was a mass exodus of fans on match day from the ground before a game starts then maybe, just maybe the powers that be would take an interest in what the normal joe soap has to say.

Dont hold your fucking breath though.

i think its an excellent idea. i like heartwarming moments... and this seems like a perfect opportunity for me to feel a little cosy inside.

I think the SOS approach has made us all look a bit daft at times. This is a simple unity to bring all Liverpool fans together to promote that there is absoloutely no split decisions regarding our hatred for the club being in debt.

I think its a very good idea. However, let's see what happens before next season kicks off. Hopefully we'll have new owners by then. If not, we are in serious trouble!

That my good man, is the currrent aim in a nutshell. It sounds very simple, but it will prove to be very effective. You'd be amazed how many fans worldwide still do not appreciate what is going on financially at Liverpool, or at least do not appreciate the seriousness of it.

hopefully I'll have some images ready sometime this week for you guys to have a look at.

Once again, this is just a one off idea, that may help hilight the difficulties associated with debt on our club and football generally, which is becoming an increasingly hot topic.

Thanks again for your consideration.
