LDV has done nothing to indicate he's 'shit'.

On the contrary, he looks excellent pretty much every time he plays.
[/quote]He's shit.

by all accounts he's struggled with step up to reserves and kacaniklic is actually the bigger loss.

the one and only time i saw him he was pretty decent but not in the same sort of league as Buchtmann or Pacheco.

I've no idea what happened to Buchtmann - maybe he'll pick up now he's back in Germany.

I'm happy enough with Konchesky. A solid premiership proven left-back at the height of his game. Dependable 7/10 player who'll throw in the odd 8/10 and a goal.

Miles better than we've had of late.

He actually used to live next door to my Mum and Dad when he was a youngster at Charlton. Really level headed young lad (buying a house for himself at 19 odd) who'd stop for a chat and seemed like a good lad. He's done really well for himself through dedication and hard work more than anything.

Good luck to him.

Morning Neil.

What are your feelings on Konchesky? Is he a good attacking fullback?

Yeah, I'm being deliberately gloomy. He'll be 'decent'.

Regardless - we are starting to look like a hardcore special KGB hit squad from the darkest depths of the Russian federation.

Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp has praised Roy Hodgson’s efforts to sign Fulham defender Paul Konchesky, claiming the Craven Cottage stalwart is a “superb one-on-one defenderâ€.

Hodgson worked with the left-sided defender during his tenure with the Cottagers and although Konchesky’s pending move to Anfield has underwhelmed many of Liverpool’s fans, Redknapp suggests the 29-year-old would be an excellent addition for the club should they successfully complete the deal before the 6pm deadline today.

The former Liverpool captain and regular Sky Sports pundit, told the Daily Mail: “Liverpool fans, who may have been looking for big money signings, might not appreciate the quality of Paul Konchesky. “But he's a good signing for Roy Hodgson, who knows what he is getting after they worked together at Fulham last season. “I played with Paul at Spurs and he's a superb one-on-one defender, with quick feet and who loves the showdown between full-back and winger. It's hard to find good left backs. He's one of them.
