Someone needs to come up with a better song for him. The one they sang today to the tune of There's No Limit was shit.

I don't remember where I stood on Toure - probably on the fence as I am with most new signings but I think it may turn out to be a brilliant signing for a few reasons:

1) Free
2) Sheikh and other saying he's a leader on the pitch. I never thought that of him - but if we have't lost the Carra's leadership through 'noise,' then our defense will be solid again this year.
3) He has a point to prove - he obviously feels he can still play, and that he can be a top defender.
4) 3 league titles with 3 teams sounds pretty good on a resume.

Toure is awesome. He's proving to be an able replacement for Carra, and is bringing leadership and experience -- the things expected of him -- well to the table. What I didn't expect of him are his goal threat, especially at set pieces, and his passion. I haven't seen Gerrard looking this enthusiastic, jumping around in celebration, for the longest time, and I think a lot of it is down to Toure's contribution to the team spirit.

I was going to give Ruki's video a like but for the music.
It sounds like a fucking retarded Atari game where you blow up bubbles with a slow moving spear.

Modo, here's what you do

Step 1: relax

step 2: suck a massive, Red, Carragher shaped Cock

Good girl.

Did you just admit to sucking Carragher shaped cocks in order to help you relax?

That's pretty weird, I usually read a book or something.

Great home debut.
I like the mad dieter.

I was always under the impression the reason he ended up at big spending Manchester city where money was no object was because he is not a bad player at all.... maybe not glamorous or nuttin but...

I didn't think he'd get a game but he looks like one of the best defenders we've had in years.

I don't think he was playing like this for Citeh. I reckon he's all fired up coz Liverpool is well ace.

He was sidelined at Citeh in favour of bigger, costlier names who weren't necessarily better players. That would sap anyone's form and morale.

I don't know - City fans seemed to think well of him.

I don't often agree with what Modo has to say but he hasn't said much wrong here I think. Toure has replaced Carra in our lineup and based on one game looks the better player. It's only natural to compare the two as it indicates if we have improved on that area.

+1

I thought he was to slow and easily turned at the end of his city career but fuck he was superb this weekend.

Lets see how he copes with Wellbeck and RVP

It is a bit of an unusual career arc...Fights way into first team at Arsenal as a young player.... builds a reasonable reputation in a mentally flaky team then takes the big money move to city only to be overlooked for bigger names...

I also remember reading about him having an infectious positive character when a rated young player at Arsenal...there was a story about him walking through the canteen and getting all the players autographs as a youngster when he signed.

Maybe getting himself off the bench and into a team who will actually play him is going to give him a new lease of life but then to be fair if you cant be enthusiastic on your debut at Anfield on the first day of the season you probably shouldn't be in the game at all.

Pretty sure it was him and Campbell that were the defenders in the team that won the league undefeated.

Not... sure... if... serious.

It was a great start for him, quietly impressed with the way he's seamlessly slotted in. I seem to remember some clown getting all factual a few weeks back about how he was guaranteed to fail because he's "shit in the air" amongst other things. I really hope he succeeds, it'd be even better just to shove it up the usual bellends on here who wrote him off straight away as not good enough, blah blah.
