Brendan Rodgers shakes hands with Jurgen Klopp before the Pre Season Friendly match between Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund at Anfield on August 10, 2014
Jurgen Klopp would be interested in a move to the Premier League and would not be restricted to a top four club, his agent has claimed.
The former Dortmund coach is currently taking a break from the game after ending his successful tenure at Borussia Dortmund after German Cup final defeat to Wolfsburg.
The charismatic coach was linked with a possible move to Anfield prior to club owners FSG backing Brendan Rodgers to continue in the role next season.
Interestingly though, Klopp’s agent Marc Kosicke has suggested he would be open to coming to England and would want to work with a sporting director, something which was initially FSG’s plan at Liverpool.
Brendan Rodgers rejected that model in agreeing to come to Anfield and it subsequently morphed into the transfer committee whose workings have caused such controversy with fans.

Speaking to SPOX, Kosicke said: “The Premier League is very exciting, And we do not only think about the top four because there are some other great clubs below them. But I am not sure the profile of the job could work.
“In Germany there is a clear separation between manager and sporting director and I think in principle this is very good. Jurgen does not like to speak to players’ agents or to carry out a transfer. So we have to see which is the most useful arrangement.”
Klopp would not necessarily need Champions league football to attract him to a role according to Kosicke.
“It is always all about the challenge,” he said. “When Jurgen signed for Dortmund there were other clubs who had better prestige and were in better financial mood at this time. Nevertheless he decided for Dortmund.
“He has the great ability to develop things. If he goes into a stadium, feels the energy and thinks that he can make a difference here, this could be more attractive to him than going with the big deals and aim for the treble.”
Klopp won two Bundesliga titles and reached a Champions League final in his seven years at Dortmund.

Bit fucking stupid timing, the meeting was last week. A week ago he was having a sabbatical, we were having a meeting everyone knew about. Now a week later, after we've made massive inroads to what we're going to do next season, he comes out and says, "actually...".

I'd be really surprised if, should he actually be available, that we weren't already alerted to this.

I can only hope we're already clearing the decks for him to take over in a few months.

Not confident given who we're signing, though.

There's absolutely no doubt 'our people' have spoken informally with 'his people'. So they can both say there's been no direct contact, while talks flow on. But I'm sure plenty of other clubs have done the same.

There were, yes. I don't think so at this moment. I've no idea how serious they were. I've not heard any rumours at all of deals or promises or anything like that.

Bingo, it's not like Klopp is ever going to pick up the phone and ring the Lizards in Boston. If anything has or were to happen it would be his agent in contact with someone in the Liverpool hierarchy.

Have you seen the call charges for ringing the Mothership?

Okay, how do we move this from an exciting offer to an 'irresistable' offer?

The dug out would sound like MC Hammer was in residence:

KLOPP: 'Can't touch that! Can't touch that!! Brendan, stop touching!!'

He ain't coming to us. A mid table team with not an awful lot to spend. I can see Citeh nabbing him, sadly.

Strange enough Therese clubs above us do reasonable well andre the clubs behinde does above expectations.... we are the only fucking club matching those criterias...

Ah. Fuck. Got a new phone yesterday and it even take control of my gibberish... i usually did all of that myself.... However. Kopp would not take stoke or Swansea. And those above us are not clubs mentioned as interesting projects outside top for?

Looks and sounds like the club are pushing Rodgers into dead man walking territory so he will eventually resign. Stripping him of all his trusted backroom staff, keeping the transfer committee intact, courting his successor etc etc.

In fact, it could be that they were certain he would go once they had made all their demands but Brendan shocked them by accepting everything they threw at him.
