Dani Ceballos

Attracting intense interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona following a breakout year in La Liga.15M Euro buy out clause in contract and open to moving abroad this year. Seems to play deeper than Kieta but more than willing to break forward. 3 MOM in 30 appearances last year.

Leon Goretzka

Reportedly going nowhere this window but a large bid could be more tempting for Schake than for Leipzig. He's entering the last 12 months of his contract so a bid of £25-£30M could tempt them into selling rather than losing him on a free next year.

Sergej Milinkovic

“If I was a sporting director of any top European club now, the first player I would buy is Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.”These are the words of Leonardo, PSG's former director of football and the Brazilian who was responsible for bringing in the likes of Kaka, Alexandre Pato and Thiago Silva among others during his time at Milan. The player developed at Genk where Kalidou Koulibaly, Kevin De Bruyne, Thibaut Courtois, Christian Benteke and Wilfred Ndidi all benefited vastly from their experience there. 7 goals and 9 assists last season and he became one of the best players in Italy aged only 22. He occupies the midfield 3 in a 4-3-3 so would be suitable for Klopp's game. Would require a large bid, but could well be worth it even with the peado tash.

Ceballos will go to Madrid.
Goretzka seems to be a really good player, but I think missing out on Keita is a big issue for our team ... It seems he was Klopp's #1 target ...

Gorerzka would seem to be the most realistic backup option but we're gonna have to compete with Bayern for his signing I think. And Lazio have already stated Milinkovic isn't for sale at any price, plus it'll be a bigger gamble than Keita eventhough on the sole basis that he's from Serie A.

Gorerzka has a growing reputation, was often played out of position last season (RM) and has had an excellent Summer in international football. However he does seem very Can-like to me. Do we need another ? He is not a substitute for Keita or a Keita-like player though.

He's more Hendo than Can.

There arent many players like Keita though. I've got no idea about who we could target if we dont get him.

Goretzka is a hard working AM/CM. He'd fit perfectly in our midfield.

Ceballos is in a tug of war between Real and Barcelona. Currently, the rumors are Madrid is winning the battle. They apparently are ready to allow loaning Ceballos back to Betis to further his development. No way we are getting him.

I think Savic has been priced at 60 million plus ( Don't remember where I read it). We might as well go all in for Keita if we ae pursuing Savic.

N'zonzi may be worth a look but his age (28) and release clause (€40 million) will probably put us off.

Seri is another interesting option but Favre has commented that they won't sell him, having already "lost four starting players". He also suffers from chilblains (painful and itchy swellings on the skin when the weather is cold) and previously said he is happy where he is.

Do you reckon we will bring another in if we don't land Keita?

Can see the same 'reason' being cited... ...
[article] “I understand it is absolutely normal that people ask whether we should have brought players in. The situation is yes, on the one side pretty simple, but on the other hand it is pretty difficult. It is not that we don’t want to bring players in. We do. But the thing is, the players we want because we think they help us, the clubs don’t sell. It is not about money in this situation, it is the winter transfer window.

“Clubs are saying ‘No, we have half a year to go, we cannot find another player like this, we prefer to take money in the summer than a few pounds more in the winter than whatever’. So it is pretty easy. You see the situation. It’s tight, it’s close, we know that, but if the right decision is not possible in signing the right player then you cannot make the wrong transfer.

“It is not as if there are 20 players out there who could make this team stronger, who are running around and are available. That is the situation. That is why I say we know the situation, we are prepared to move, but for the right player. We are not the only side who can decide the outcome of that, though, are we? The selling club makes the decision too.”[/article]

I was going to say him too. Aggressive, determined, runs till he drops, not restricted to defence. Would be a great backup until Keita arrives next Summer.
Definitely.. He would be a decent option in Midfield, throw in Mahrez too rather than Chamberlain and we have excellent options up front.
