Been given a new one year contract by QPR despite only making one appearance since joining last summer.

The question is, why? He's played 35 times in 5 years. It's madness.

Ask yourself, why is Hodgson gonna persist with Gerrard and Lampard in midfield for England?
It's basically the same answer.
They both think they'll come good.

It is ridiculous really from QPR, but the contract might be a pay as you play one in which case they're covered.

I know it's cool to laugh, but it's also particularly sad. He is/was a really really good footballer, and I'd have preferred to have seen more of him.

I remember once saying he was arrogant until he went to England training and watched Scholes play in the position he wanted and realised he would never get close to his level.

I don't understand why clubs ever persist with injury prone players.

We really got the brunt of it with Gerrard and Agger.

I loved him at the Toon, great great player. His falling out with Uncle Bobby was so sad to see, but he never recovered from those initial injurys (or the later ones).

There are many times in football where a manager relies too much on reputation and nostagia, rather than looking at the cold hard facts.

Hargreaves, Owen, Torres, Dyer, Barton, etc, etc.

Kieron Dyer probably has 15M in the bank and has likely had models hanging off his vomiting vicar non-stop for the past 15 years.

I'm saving my sympathy for me.

If we appoint Martinez as manager we'll have as much chance of winning the league as Kieron Dyer has of scoring past Chris Kirkland.

Remember when he had that scrap on the pitch at Newcastle? Was it with Bowyer, can't remember now.
