TalkSport now saying the question of the support staff has been ironed out and the club will announce the appointment tomorrow.

Didn't the club fire Gary Mc and O'Driscall the other day?

Looks like the german tabloid didn't know, made shit up, and the express copied it.

I've seen a number of articles claim they're still taking training sessions this week

Oh fair enough. I thought they announced it Monday morning. Did someone else make that up instead?

Has anyone given a listen to The Anfield Wrap special with Raphael Honigstein? 5 pounds monthly is alot for a podcast that thrives on circle jerk, but I really would like to hear what Honigstein had to say on Klopp's appointment.

Honigstein's been leaking "come and get me" hints on Klopp's/his agent's behalf in the German media since the summer. Our Bundesliga football correspondent Holle thinks Honigstein's full of it, and he knows far more about the guy than I do, but TBF Honigstein never came straight out and said Klopp would defo be appointed. It was all "Klopp would break his sabbatical for the right job and it wouldn't have to be one the top four teams", nudge nudge.

It wasn't even nudge nudge. Honigstein's said from the start Liverpool would be the right sort of club for Jurgen Klopp. He said this around the time Klopp announced he was leaving Dortmund.

They're defo taking training sessions.

If the club fuck up getting Klopp by insisting we keep Gary Mac & O'Driscoll then I give up on football cos our owners will have proved themselves clueless.

I'd say the deal's already done. There's no way he'd be arriving today to sign (bar faux signing for the media) or 'tie it up' and then start work tomorrow. I'm really really happy - like I felt after the 5-1 win over Arsenal happy - and still can't really believe it.

Thats due to Klopp being a long term Liverpool fan (according to Bild, who also was the Source for us keeping Macca and Driscoll so I dont know how true it is).

Should be official by tomorrow. I'm really excited by the appointment. We haven't had a manager who has delivered trophies in the modern era since Rafa, which will provide reassurance to the fans when results aren't going our way and surely instill some belief and credibility in the managers methods. I'm most excited by his 'legendary team talks'. I've grew sick of us starting slowly in matches or seeing no improvement following half time. We've lacked any sort of fight since Suarez left.

Apparently Gary Mac, O'Driscoll & Chris Davies were told yesterday they wouldn't be kept on, Gary Mac offered to come in to take training this morning anyway, which he has done.

It's also reported the club want to keep him on, possibly working with junior players.

Classy fella is Gary Mac.

I really hope so, I couldn't give a shit about Sean O'Driscoll, but it feels really cheap of us to bring Gary Mac in for 2 months and then fuck him off, I hope he stays at the club in some capacity, preferably as a coach of some sort.

I hope they let Gary Mac go with grace so he retains his dignity. I thought he would be good for the club and hopefully we'll see him continue here in another capacity - with juniors would be great. Hope he can accept that step down.
