Jordon Ibe has done his hammy

Saw something today saying he's not pulled his hamstring, but rather it was just 'tight'. Good news if true.

I'm starting to think that its that 'sliding on your knees' celebration, they all do it nowadays, even Lovren chiming in on one of Coutinho's celebrations last year. It must put some weird ass strain on you ACL's and compress the Hammy's something cruel.
Just score the goal, call the opposing players 'a shower of cunts' and get back to the centre circle. Fucking poser's.

If we actually scored goals it might be a valid issue..

Can anyone convince me that this guy is worth persevering with? I think Babel comparisons are very apt for Jordan - he just seems to be incapable of independent thought. His decision-making is still very poor indeed, and there have been no discernible signs of improvement in his other obvious weaknesses. His crossing is laughable - he genuinely doesn't seem capable of wrapping his foot around the ball. His repertoire seems to consist of either kicking it hard and straight or floating it in at snail pace.

Does anyone think he'll actually come good?

He is 19, and this his first season with consistent appearances. So give him time.

He's not as brain dead as Babel. I reckon he can be a decent bench/impact player for us.

I don't think he'll be just good, I think he'll will be great.

There are as you point out obvious areas of concern but he is still a young lad trying to find his feet and settle into the team. And as with every other player in the squad he's not had the best of Seasons so far but I am certain that Klopp is going to steady the ship now and create a healthier environment for our players in general and this will help our young players in particularly.

Ibe for me has got more or less everything you'd want in an attacking player - technique, strength, audacity, power, pace, eye for goal (this will be evident soon enough I hope) and a good shot. I even believe he's better in the defensive aspects of the game compared to Sterling and in the longer run my money will be on Ibe to be the better of the two in direct comparison.

I also think he has a great mentality, and though he has certainly faced an uphill task this Season mostly, I have him pegged down as one who is actually going to learn from this and use it to improve further.

I'm not nearly as convinced about him as you are. With regards to his mentality - he certainly doesn't have the work ethic of some of our other midfielders and often looks reluctant to do the defensive work. I also don't think he has everything you'd want in an attacking player. It's all physical attributes as far as I can see. There's very little craft or guile about him, and his awareness is poor.

I understand that it's still very early for him. The early comparisons with Sterling were not helpful, and completely unwarranted. But with some young players you just know that they are special. Sterling looked every inch a star pretty much from the outset. Ditto Owen. I don't get that feeling with Ibe.

He's nothing like Babel. He's a 20 year old kid who has great potential. He gets a bit to much flack after the Arsenal game. He's 20 so will obviously have his up and downs while he develops.
If we give Klopp time to work with him he'll turn out to be a great player. I dont think he has any issues either with his defensive work. Game intelligence and awareness will come with time.

I am concerned about his game intelligence. Like most players with great physical attributes, he found it too easy playing against other players of his age – now he is finding out that pace and power is not enough. I think in a way he is lucky that we have no choice but to give him regular playing time this season, because we are so starved of attacking options, particularly ones with any kind of pace – this stroke of luck can prove to be crucial in his development if he is willing to learn quickly.

Many people criticized his performance against Arsenal, but I saw some signs of progress – like holding up the ball to wait for the teammate's run, for example. It's a pretty basic thing, but at least it's a start.

He looks better when he has space to drift inside. This is his first full season, he'll end up being a very valuable squad player at the worst
