Well, if you are then so am I, doc. Dunno about "a few inches" (oo-er missus) but I certainly think he looks as though he's filled out.

So you're saying girth rather than length?

I will say one thing, one very important in regards to that video. He looked very impressive, I watched the game myself and was amazed at his skill. However theres not one goal in that clip, not an assist, or anything. I don't know enough about him to say if he does or not, but one has to question his end product?

Not only was it from one clip, with better finishing he could've had 5/6 assists.

A bit of both, as the bishop said to the actress.

Thats why I only asked the question! I've only seen him in the one game, he does look like he could over work things at times though.

He really is the best talent I've seen watching the youth/ reserves for years. I agree with Spidey that I think he already offers more than Pacheco. His range of passing is like nothing I've seen before except perhaps Alonso although he can also drop the shoulder and dribble past players which gives him a diversity of other talents. I would be very tempted to bring him through sooner rather than later. I suspect even Roy would have even been tempted had his season not started going so wrong.

PLaying for the reserves today (watched by Kenny eating a bowl of cereal). Started well but the real star has been Pacheco so far - gorgeous goal to put them 1-0 up.

Ended 2-1. Saric got the second. Hansen saved a peno, then gave away another getting himself sent off.

Indeed. Great news.

TonyBarretTimes Tony Barrett
Suso & Conor Coady promoted to Melwood today by Dalglish. Well deserved. Youth really getting a chance now

He could be outrages! Thank fuck Benitez isnt here to bury him and then send him on loan to the conference or something!!!
[/quote]

Can you name one player who Benitez sent on loan who is now doing well and playing at a better level?

I'll bet you can't. Its this kind of pathetic, ill thought out jibe against people that irks me the most. Why did his name even need to be brought into this discussion?

Youth players; some of them make it, most of them don't. That's not a Benitez thing, that's the case at pretty much every football club.

rafa improved the reserves rather than destroy it. as someone who watches the reserves up until maybe the past 3 years the reserves were absolute rubbish.

Spion - Rafa rarely gave any kids a chance, unless it was utterly necessary. Of course he gave Jack Robinson a debut but let's be honest, players like Pacheco, Kelly & co had no chance of seeing any time with him as a manager. Look at Daglish in 3 games - promotes talented kids (it sends a HUGE message out to the youth in the club - play well, you will get noticed) and gives them time on the pitch. I do give credit to Rafa for a) signing some of these kids b) Borello (sp?) and c) improving the youth systems here. However, he still didn't use them at all despite points a,b & c

if there was exceptional talent that could have been used then rafa would have used it. he gave games to insua and ngog who are the personification of average.

If anything isn't rafa responsible for suso being at the club with his revamped acadamy ?

Yes, Pacheco wasn't at the club as a 19-20 year old ... Neither was Kelly ...

The Rafa bashing is really pathetic. memories are short. We had more good times under him than bad.

Things didn't work out for us after a poor season and that's happens to everyone. Let's not forget that he revamped the youth set-up and brought over many classy players that we have for the future.
