Reports are we are after him. Smacks of lazy journalism but humour me. Would he be a good fit? I would say yes.

Absolutely not. He's been judged by some of the best minds in football to be no more than an impact player. That's enough cause for concern for me. For him to play regular minutes he needs to step down to a smaller club than ourselves and prove himself once more.

I'd have taken him if we hadn't signed Ings.. Any striker we get now has to be of a higher standard than him.

Hernandez ain't that.

The price might be right - And PL proven. Never really given the chance at Real or Utd. Young, good attitude, Could be a Sturridge in the making #justsaying

EDIT: That's not to say he is injury prone!

Nah as squiggles said we can't afford him the minutes to take the gamble. We have Origi and Ings to consider for that already.

Your point is right in theory, but I can't see it working for us this season.

If the options are Benteke or Chicharito - I'll take the lil pea and here's why:

1) Ferguson DID rate him - and only dropped him most of the time when he signed RvP (& still had Rooney obviously).
2) He can score goals - and is a pretty decent technical player, so he can pass.
3) He is hungry to prove himself
4) He wouldn't cost more than 8 million, which means if things don't work well - no worries, sell to Spain or Tigres or something.
5) Benteke will cost 32 million and I think this is a mistake - we cannot waste this kind of money on a player when he doesn't really fit into the system that works best for Rodgers.

^^^^^ Here speaks some sense. A 'like' for wizzy.

You really have to look at it in context. Strikers are few and far between - If Benteke has a £32 million release clause the £8-10Mill for Hernandez is a no brainer surely.

Plus LVG is just batshit enough to sell to us! Bacon face would never have done it!

Pea pea
Wherever you maybe
You are now in the right county
It could be worse
You could be a Manc
And live like a tit
And smell like a skank.....

😀

EDIT: I realise that is shit but he's nowhere near to be being signed so thought I'd get my ditty off early.

I hate this song shit you fuckers do. But if he did sign his song would have to be Let It Be, but Little Pea instead.

Is he not available on a free this summer?

He also scored 20 goals in his first season at United, scored 18 in the 2012-13 season and has hit 40 in 73 for Mexico. He's scored goals throughout his career - whether that's starting games or coming on.
I wouldn't think that sort of 'impact player' should be beneath us bearing in mind our current predicament in the striking department.

The problem(for one of a better word) for Hernandez is he's a pure goalscorer and it pretty limited when it comes to linking the play and holding the back up and suchlike. Rightly or wrongly strikers nowadays seem to have to be able to do it all.

It totally does.

To the tune of

He's Czech
He's shit
He's improved a little bit
Vladimir, Vladimir

But I think I'd change my last line

No thanks
He's wank
And he's a motherfucking Manc
Hernandez, Hernandez

Tell me that doesn't scan

The tune was Lord Of The Dance though.

Yours works well with the old Sammy Lee song.

He's fat he's round
He's worth a million pound
Sammy Lee Sammy Lee

Inflation huh.

If the choice is wasting a ton of money or going into the season with what we now have I'll take the latter.

Hernandez might be worth a punt at 5M and he will go and score goals for someone but he'll come in as just another option... I think we need someone who will give us stability in attack.

It's all besides the point anyways as Utd would never sell to us:

If Hernandez leaves, does that mean Man Utd are flicking their little pea?

He'd be a good addition to a squad which was already reasonably balanced up front but needed to find more goals from somewhere. If the Studge were reliably fit, I'd consider it. As it is, though, I reckon we need a forward player who's more than simply a high class goalhanger, so no thanks.
