Jan transfers (all other clubs bar Liverpool)

Brighton have rejected a significant offer from Saudi Pro-League club Al-Nassr for Japan winger Kaoru Mitoma.

The bid was believed to be worth €65m (£54.42m) but sources with an understanding of the situation say Brighton have no need to sell and dismissed the offer out of hand.
However, it is anticipated Al-Nassr will return with a higher bid.

While Brighton are confident in their position and believe Mitoma has no desire to leave, the sums involved are bound to at least be considered seriously by the 27-year-old and it cannot be completely ruled out that a deal will go through.
Mitoma signed a contract extension in October 2023 that runs to June 2027.
Jeez. You'd have to be tempted like

Simeone was never going to get the best tout of him, Barca are a weird freak show ATM, and Chelsea it's impossible to know who the manager will be one week to the next.

Bit of time working with someone like slot might help him

At a cut rate price, sure.

Like I said, as a Cheesy-type reclamation project, I'm on board, but not for anything close to the 50m Euros Chelsea paid five months ago.

Mitoma had that 12 game spell about 2 seasons ago. Looked a player. He’s been somewhat underwhelming since.

I found out why we aren't signing anyone.

I was in a bar with a lad whose dad is good friends with Slot and has a bike shop by Zwolle stadium in the city Slot is from. The lad told me Slot was always offering under price for a new bike tyre, always haggling for less than the price.

We've been offering 5 quid and a multi pack of skips for Zubimendi and the others no wonder we only signed Chiesa on the cheap.

I'm sure Hughes loved finding out we could hire a tight Dutch bastard.

Hendo to Monaco. Guess he needs some time in a tax haven to rebuild his finances after the Saudi thing blew up on him.

[De Telegraaf] Ajax Management are said to have reacted with astonishment to Henderson's request to be allowed to make the transfer to Ligue 1 on a free transfer despite a contract until the summer of 2026. And if not - Henderson is said to have threatened - he would no longer want to play for Ajax.

----------

Didn't know Hendo was about that jetset life.

I disliked him for before an average, apparently he's a cunt too.

Yeah…. He should really have built upon his undergraduate thesis with a postgraduate one.

Fucking slack arse.

Typical academic - spend so long in ivory towers and when they come to apply what they wrote/read in their smoke filled study they realise real life doesn't really work like that

Something has definitely flipped in his head in the last few years. Maybe he's just his agents bitch at this point, but whatever the case, his reputation is heavily tarnished.

Very odd.

[Mike Verweij] Jordan Henderson regrets pushing for a break with Ajax before the Europa League match with Galatasaray.
According to sources around the player, he promised technical director Kroes, who came to the dressing room immediately after the final whistle, to finish the season in Amsterdam.

All good then!

Good job Jordan.

In 5 years time he’ll be remembered as a legend who lifted every possible trophy while captain.

Well done Jordan for honouring your contract as a highly paid footballer. So few in the world could tolerate such hardships

Man City look like they'll be signing Nico Gonzalez from Porto.

This is an excellent Rodri back up option. I really thought we'd be in for him as a Zubimendi alternative.

Big shame.
